  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

God will do what is right. God does not reveal the standing of every individual. We know there are both people who are evil from birth and believers from birth.

Psa 58:3 NET.
(3)
The wicked turn aside from birth;
liars go astray as soon as they are born.

Psa 22:10 NET.
(10)
I have been dependent on you since birth;
from the time I came out of my mother's womb you have been my God.

There is no end to baptism; it is ongoing, a lifelong journey. The sins committed following baptism also need to be washed away by water, but this time it is the water of our tears, the tears of repentance. As we renounced the evil one in baptism and united ourselves to Christ, so we need to keep saying “yes” to Jesus and “no” to Satan many times each day as we go through life.

Interesting to tie this passage into the conversation. If a "fetus", still in the womb can recognize Christ and rejoice, then why not an infant?

In those days, Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a city
of Judah, and she entered the house of Zacharias and greeted Elizabeth. And
when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and
Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and she exclaimed with a loud cry,
"Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! And why is
this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For behold, when
the voice of your greeting came to my ears, the babe in my womb leaped for joy.
And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was
spoken to her from the Lord."

Yes, why not indeed. I see no foundation in scripture for the teaching that there are people who cannot have faith. There seems to be no indication in scripture that there is such a person. I wonder why God would create a person incapable of belief, that teaching seems not to be based on the bible, nor for that matter on tradition, but on the sole basis that we don't understand it. How can an infant believe? I don't know. Only that scripture says he does. And scripture as you point out really doesn't stop at birth, but indeed goes back even further.

Therefore, I accept it as truth. I really don't care that all kinds of people jump up and ask how can this be and such. I really don't know. I simply believe for the simple fact that God revealed it to be so.
