It was a lady from Romania in the Women's Marathon last night~what a race, to pull out that far ahead and keep the pace for that long and at her age ~38~ just incredible.

It was great. Did you see how she kept running after she crossed the finish line? I think she probably did at least two or three laps in what we could only imagine was adrenalin and exultation.

Yeah they'd cut away to other runners draggin themselves into the stadium and Constantina had a flag and was still running around the stadium~~looking forward to the men's marathon; none of the other events interest me at all; Constantina makes me want to lace up again

Say, does anyone else think Phelps was a wee bit, like, greedy? I just think if it gets to the point where someone picking up yet another gold is boring, they've entered too many races.

Had totally forgotten, though, how FAB the Olympics are. I miss 'em! Being able to watch a choice of sports all day every day, and the feeling of community and excitement and fun... very wonderful

Phelps is a local guy from just down the road in Baltimore~~not sure if greedy is exactly the word I'd use~he just saw Spitz's record, and records are made to be broken. He's said he's gonna go for it again in four years, he only needs 3 more to be the all time total career Olympic medal holder (currently held by a Soviet gymnast)...so if the Baltimore Bullet can do it then go for it.

Swimming is like gymnastics and track where you can compete for multiple medals, unlike my favorite event, the Marathon, which tends to be a one medal per Olympic thing I watched the men's Marathon last week and a Kenyan finally won. The Kenyans dominate marathons worldwide but for some reason just couldn't nail a Gold until Beijing
