  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Am I the only one who loves to watch award shows?

I love to watch the Red Carpet coverage to see what everyone is wearing and I love to see if my choices win.

Last night was the SAG awards and we just had the Golden Globes. They are so much fun. I can't wait for the Oscars.

I used to get into watching award shows, especially when I was able to watch them with my mom, but as I got older it interests me less and less. Partially because there are normally other things on I would rather watch now, but a lot of it has to do with getting irritated with various entertainers. Once I start hearing their personal beliefs or political beliefs spewed everywhere and they are so far out in left field that they irritate me, I can no longer watch them. I guess I have lost respect for so many entertainers over the years that I no longer care about award shows.

I don't mind award shows, but prefer to tape them and watch them later so I can fast-forward throught all of the "entertainment". I just want to see who gets the awards, it's long enough without all the extras. Am I the only one who gets bored to tears by the not-very-funny comedy routines? Plus I generally prefer older music, so the songs performed aren't usually my style. I at least have the option of fast-forwarding, but I kind of feel sorry for those who have to site through the whole thing (*aw, poor celebrities* :) ).
