Cole knew that something bad had happened. He missed seeing his girlfriend. She had not called him back in a few days and he knew that she was hurting. His girlfriend was named Lane and she was a cutter. She often self harmed herself. She would make little cuts on her arm. He still found her beautiful. She was cream skinned with soft brown hair and brown eyes. She often kept her head down when she walked. She was very self conscious and did not feel good enough about herself. Cole knew he had to protect Lane and he did the best he could. He knew Jesus did love Lane but it was hard for her to feel loved herself. One day he sat down with her and read the Bible to her and explained Gods love for her was like the love in Song of Solomon. Lane liked that very much and never forgot his words.
