There are many things out there that qualify as exactly what they seem as the demonic is very few and far between.
You might just see something once per lifetime, as for the rest of us they might as well not be there.

There's a threat about it in the autism part of christian forums. Most autists say it isn't, there was one woman who said it was, they got angry at her, but it turned out she was delivered from it herself.

Thanks for sharing this I will look this up. Did not even think to do that and I have been up for near 24 hours :-/ LOL

I am curious how you came to this conclusion ? It seems like an odd conclusion to jump to....

The Bible stories of Jesus confronting demonic powers in people seem like they were a lot more than once in a lifetime. The land of Israel had a small population and Jesus seemed to bump into demons left and right. It also suggests in those stories that these demons were around for many years before Jesus showed up on the scene.

So why would our modern day be any different than those Bible stories ? If the Bible stories teach many demons were active , then that would seem to be a better basis of determining how frequently we might encounter demons rather than by randomly assuming they are not there based on the personal discernment or lack thereof of specific people.

What is your view of autism as it pertains to demonic power? Do you believe autism is mainly caused by demonic oppression? I have heard many teachers say that most disease is, but anyone here have any experience on this?

I think that demons play a role in most sickness and most of the setbacks which we experience. I also think that the Devil works in an organized way and uses strongholds to accomplish most of his strategies rather than running himself ragged trying to micro manage everything. For example , it is much easier to set up a stronghold like the theory of evolution, sexism , communism , etc. , than it is to send out a hundred million demons to mess with people's thinking. I think the way that it works is things are set in motion using strongholds of thinking and natural processes Then the demons just have to push it along to keep it steered in the right direction.

It is ironic that one such stronghold is the lie that demonic influence is rare and also the idea that people should be offended at the idea that a demon is involved in their problem. When people accept those type of strongholds in their thinking then the demons workload is much much less.

I agree with you on this and I hope I conveyed myself clearly when I asked my original question on how is demonic activity involved in this. Reason I ask is my wife and I have tried praying over her before and she goes berserk when we do. So one day I was watching over her right after she bed down for the night and I just simply said in the name of Jesus come out of her, and she started rolling around in her sleep which is odd as she is normally a pretty solid sleeper. So I'm sure it is something demonic involved. My wife has said she's had dreams of my daughter talking with an angel and the angel in the dream is strengthening my daughter and letting her know that God is aware of her situation and He loves her. Very heartbreaking to hear her talk about it. She can not talk, which is the form her autism has taken I suppose. I don't know much about the specifics of autism and the wide spectrum that science says covers it, but I do know it can affect most motor functions. I know of people who are blind because of autism and the likes.

It's also something with connections in the brain. My husband is autistic and he's also dyslectic. I know of a healed dyslectic girl in TACF who saw angels connecting things in her brain. But sicknesses can be a curse, like cancer, when it's a family curse and autism is in the family most of the time.

The assumption that demonic activity is prevalent is enough to keep deliverance ministry busy for years to come, but beyond that there is not much in the way of proof.

The Bible is the source of the idea that demonic activity is prevalent. So am I to understand that your starting point is to doubt the Bible and demand some sort of proof concerning the biblical reality of demonic activity?

Perhaps you would like to provide some evidence as proof of your doctrine that you are teaching ? Biblical or otherwise....

If prayer stirs the thing up but fails to drive it out , then the thing to do is to fast. A group fast where several people fast and pray together is even better.

I will recommend a book to you if you have not already read it. It is titled the hidden power of prayer and fasting by Mahesh Chavda.

In the opening chapter of the book, Mahesh tells the story of himself, as a young Christian , working in a hospital in Lubbock, Texas. A state school for profoundly disabled children. Some of the babies had been brain damaged. They were born to mothers on heroin. Others had been injured in attacks by alcoholic parents. They were considered to be incurable.

So Mahesh begins to pray in tongues and with understanding over these children as he works with them. He begins to see some amazing results. One child who was never supposed to walk begins to walk. Another was born blind and started to partially see. But there was a limit to the results of his praying.

Which brings him to the title of chapter one , "what about Stevie? ". Stevie was a victim of Down's syndrome. A self mutilator. He would cry out and beat himself in the face constantly. The state had been administering shock treatment to Stevie. Every time he beat himself , they administered electric shock to him. It only made him worse. So they tied his arms with splints so that he could not bend them to hit himself. But some of the other children thought it was funny to push Stevie over and he would fall and not be able to lift his arms to protect his face. So after finding Stevie with a bloody face on the floor several times , Mahesh cried out to the Lord..." What is the answer for Stevie ? "

The answer from the Lord was Matthew 17:21, " this kind goes out by prayer and fasting. ."

After fourteen days of fasting , The Lord spoke to Mahesh and told him to pray for Stevie. Mahesh cast a demon spirit out of Stevie in a very dramatic fashion and Stevie was healed.

Hopefully this link works. It should give you a free preview of the book.

Alot are now coming to believe it's because of the shots they give, innoculations.

And no, not everything is a demon, contrary to what alot teach, alot of issues have been reversed with healthy diets, and the elimination of bad foods, etc, not saying that is the cure here, but it proves not every illness is demonic.

My wife read an interesting book called Sonrise about it years ago, and how they reveresd the situtation with their child.

I've heard Randy Clark talk about a dyslexic girl who saw angels re-wiring her brain - I guess it could be the same girl.

Since hearing that I have prayed for 6 people with dyslexia - 3 were healed there and then, the other 3 couldn't tell until later due to the way it affected them and I never heard from them one way or t'other.

This discussion shows how we, as the Body of Christ, are generally lacking in the genuine gift of discerning of spirits. If this gift was in stronger operation, we wouldn't have to guess, we'd know and we'd have far greater results ministering to it whether through deliverance or healing. From Scripture, we know any illness can be demonic, physical, or psychological. What we don't know from Scripture is frequency. I've wondered about Autism as well, often, as I have 2 nephews with a variant of it.

I'll keep them in my prayers. Other than my 3 yr old daughter who has Autism and ADHD, I have a 4 yr old son who is autistic as well.

Thank you.

I'll add you and your treasures from Heaven to my prayer list as well. I know what it is to be in agony over children and wanting them to be whole and healed. Last year at this time, our 8 yr old had "leukemia", a few months later it was "crohn's". Months of daily crying before the Lord, laying hands on him, calling the church together to fast and pray for him and continuing working with the doctors all along as best we could combined to where he is now a healthy boy again. Along the way, he (much to our surprise) has had a dream in which he met Jesus (he describes Him in great detail with a white robe and blue sash), heard the voice of the Holy Spirit calling to him out loud, received tongues, prophetic words, has prayed for a woman with a broken finger and it was instantly healed before 3 witnesses eyes, has a significant gift of discerning of spirits where he perceives people's hearts very clearly, and is often caught in his room or out on the deck 'just praying, Dad'. Lord my heart cries over what we've gone through as parents this past year, but the treasure God has sown in him is worth the trial it took to get there.

I pray you will find that path and discover the treasures that God has in store for you in your two children.

I believe there is pressure for people not to believe in the possible spiritual roots of mental health problems, even from Christians, who happen to be carnally minded themselves.

It is important to acknowledge our spiritual roots as Christains, and let the Bible define our world view and not popular culture. Labels given to some of these ailments by the scientific world become the strongholds that wall people in. One aspect of being able to discern things accurately is to call things what God calls them, not what man calls them. If we can start with that we will have made some significant progress.

Since we a spirit, soul and body, It's important to have a holistic view of things. But we leave people stranded if we disregard the possible involvement of demons and the devil. Even though not everything must be attributed to him.
