CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am Australian. Born in NSW I have lived in QLD since I was 6mths old so consider myself a QLD...I can't help where I was born.
Though currenlty in Mount Isa I will be moving to the Gold Coast at the end of the year.

lol, this is kind of funny, we have here a Queenslander who doesn't like rugby league and a New South Welshman who prefers AFL to League- but plays grass hockey... Next thing you know Jesusismysaviour will profess a love for Rugby Union...
- I wonder if its possible to pin point a national Australian sport- I'd suggest AFL as it is the most popular sport and is uniquely Australian... Do I have any bites?

lol nup, I hate all sport hehehehe, I find rugby brutle (if thats how you spell it) and vicious, afl I used to like but now that they aren't allowed to play like rugby it's not brutle enough.

Oh cricket I don't mind. But only day matches when they actually try to hit the ball rather than the tests where they only tap them and then mosy on down the pitch that annoys me.

So what do you guys see as being the best thing about this country? I love it's diversity. Diversity in landscape, geology, people, nationalities, opportunities etc. there is such diversity there is not much chance to get board with it all

I love the landscape, the look of the place, the fact that we can go into the city but then out to the country in a matter of an hour, and we are in hills and countryside filled with canola fields. Thats my favourite. That and I love the animals hehe, we have cool animals.

OH well at least your getting closer to me lol. I dont' think there are any other Victorians on this thing grrrr, it's all good. Welcome.
As for Afl I don't know anymore, it seems that they aren't quite like it was back in the 80's when everyone went to see a fight and a game of footy broke out. The players seemed more interested in their sponsor deals and their manicured nails than the fans and the kids and the football game in general lol. I find it a bit annoying now. Bring back Dipper, and Jacko, and Dermie I say.
