ATTN: I'm leaving

With God's grace I've made a decision to quit (or at least try) all MBs that I am a part of for an undetermined amount of time. I might post a little in the Work & Employment and the Prayer Requests forums to ask advice, or seek to support though. I also might welcome the Newbies in the New Member Intros from time to time, but that's about it. I need to face my fears about job hunting, and I have really got to get more focused on my job search. MBs just proove to be too much of a distraction for me. Your continued prayers are very much appreciated.

I will conclude with a praise report, I have made a lot of progress thus far today . I have been writing out my long-term and short-term goals, making lists of the benefits and consequences for finding a full-time job, and am going through songs that motivate me. I just went through some testing from the Johnson O'Connor Research Foundation so I know what my apititudes are. Translation: I know what jobs I should avoid, and what jobs that would do well at.

The other praise is that I, after several years of searching, have finally found a denominational home. I really like the Methodist/Anglican tradition, so that is one major distraction that is gone.

Leaving for the time being is just one more positve step I can take towards fidning a job and becoming independent!

Job hunting in itself is a full-time job and yes, these boards are addictive, so I can understand how easy it is to be distracted.

May I recommend the book "Knock'em Dead 2005" by Martin Yates.

I'm tossing the leaving the message boards idea thing in the air too. I know God called me here... maybe it was to just give a few people advice (a few have broken up with their boy/girl friends who were non-Christians and they were having sex with because of what *I* said).... maybe I'm called for more reasons. They're a distraction to me too, but how much right now, I'm not sure. Anyway, the point is, I totally understand.

I admire your honesty and the steps you are taking to independence. BTDT, not easy, but rewarding. I pray the Lord will lead you every step and am thankful He has helped you find your denominational home. God bless you, and hopefully you will at least come back from time to time with updates!
