The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude, to me, is more important than facts.
It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do.
It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill.
It will make or break a company… a church…a home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.
We cannot change our past…we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude…
I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.
And so it is with you…we are in charge of our Attitudes.

It is upon us daily to decide how we will respond to life.
It is best handled by living the best Christian walk we can.
And we attain this thru reading the Bible and thru prayer.

Is it me, or does that sound almost like a paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 13?

It doesn't really make much difference if we are right about what we say or do if we are wrong in our motivations and attitudes. Ouch, that hit home.

Paul has this to say about our and Christ's attitude:

Phi 2:2-8.. then fill me with joy by having the same attitude, sharing the same love, being united in spirit, and keeping one purpose in mind. Do not act out of selfish ambition or conceit, but with humility think of others as being better than yourselves.

Do not be concerned about your own interests, but also be concerned about the interests of others. Have the same attitude among yourselves that was also in Christ Jesus: In God's own form existed he, And shared with God equality, Deemed nothing needed grasping.

Instead, poured out in emptiness, A servant's form did he possess, A mortal man becoming. In human form he chose to be, And lived in all humility, Death on a cross obeying.

Amen!! My attitude is a choice I make every day, in every circumstance.

Paul has this to say about our and Christ's attitude:

Phi 2:2-8... keeping one purpose in mind... Have the same attitude among yourselves that was also in Christ Jesus: A servant's form ... in all humility ... obeying.

To check my attitude, I ask myself ...

Lord, what do others see when they look at us?
Do they see a good and faithful witness?
Do they know without a doubt
That we belong to Christ?
Do they see a family resemblance?

Those are some of my favorite Scripture verses; they're so challenging and convicting. So many times my attitude does not reflect Christ's, as it should, and so many times I put myself ahead of others, when I shouldn't.
