Hi Ang :), we could discuss this.

I do realize that after the August ELCA decision the disagreement between the two became just way too sharp. Way too sharp.

But ELCA does have their own forum.
Are you talking about the common TCL forum?

This would take some thinking, but such things are doable.

Yes, since August TCL is not the same. :):)

But we cannot discuss this here.

Do you want us to evaluate TCL?

Thanks, :)
In Christ,
Ed
Sorry I brought it up here, Ed. We can talk some more about this later.

Ang :)

OK. Final draft ...

A place for Progressive/Moderate Adventist discussion that does not insist on acceptance of all 28 fundamental beliefs. All who wish to discuss are welcome.

Looks like we're done?

Thanks, :)

Edial,

I made bold the word "not" in your post.

Agreeing to the negative (what is not), is what the rulers of this world did as they dealt with Jesus.

Gen 11:6
6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. KJV

Hi Joe. :)

Actually agreeing on a negative is not necessarily a bad thing.

It could also be a beginning of defining own system of belief or a place for folks to discuss and question doctrines they do not necessarily agree with.

Adventism has a long history and apparently this movement is taking various directions. CF cannot ignore the desire of people.

All we have is Nicene and non-Nicene sections.

The rest is freedom while adhering to basic sitewide house rules.

We have freedom ... it is how we use freedom that often defines us. :)

GAL 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. ...

GAL 5:13 You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love. 14 The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." 15 If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.

Thank you. :)
In Christ,
Ed

I just reread the article in the OP of Sophia's sticky of April 2008. The second part of the presentation, by Kenneth Samples which discusses "Evangelical Adventists", is very important.

Is "Evangelical" being discontinued by decision at this time?

This question does not necessarily need to be answered on this thread before Edial goes forward with his objective.

But the presentation recaptured my attention. I read it as I first joined CF. But it had much more meaning to me as I read it today.

At the time, there were a few members here who self-identified as "Evangelical Adventists." This forum should include them, but they are not mentioned specifically in the forum title.
