• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

ATTENTION, ALL READ ... please.

Hello all

I see that tensions are running high because of the passing of Prop 8. I understand that this is a huge blow to many people here but while you're posting on CF I'm going to have to ask you to express your disappointed and disgust in a less aggressive manner.

To the prop 8 supporters, you're obviously very pleased with this decision and while you're on this forum you're entitled to say why you're pleased, but when you go on from that and goad, belittle and mock homosexuals you're crossing a line. The mod team have actioned several such posts and there are plenty more that have been reported. The success of prop 8 is a stab in the heart to many people here, and to gloat over their pain is tacky.

This forum has produced a huge amount of reports in the last day or so, I'm going to be going through the threads here and if I see a thread which has more then 5 reports made on it I'm going to close that thread for review.

Finally, please be mindful of the rules, our mod team are few andover worked especially with the fall out from the election and now proposition 8.

I stand by my statement that anyone who voted yes on the proposition, and anyone who supports that proposition is an awful bigot. They may otherwise be nice people, but on that issue they're as bigoted as the KKK.

That is all. :)

It has been reported that Jesus was a nice person.

Jesus replied. "But at the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female.' For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."

You can vent, just vent within the rules. Calling other people a bigot is against our rules so posts that do so will probably be edited or deleted.

People who voted yes on prop 8 are welcome to post here and they should be able to do so without getting a load of abuse.

*rolls eyes*

What did Athene just say? In one ear and out the other, eh?

Just listen to yourself slander everyone else as "bigots". If anyone doesn't agree with you, then they're as bad as the KKK. Sheesh.
I know what Athene just said. That's why I said it here. I want to be heard loud and clear.

This is why CF needs a thread that is no holds barred, let it all hang out thrash-fest. You get to see the real nature of people in a forum like that.

Too much structure hinders reality sometimes.

You mean one where I can use my actual vocabulary and not this rated G junk? Where I don't get reported for saying Damn or Ass/Bastard?!?!

You know, more than likely Lot has descendants running around somewhere in the Yes on Prop 8 crowd.

I'm betting.

Descendents of his daughters' incestous couplings with their father? Maybe that explain their mental processes.

Hey -- you are the one who brought it up. I just followed up with a logical observation.

If I said what I really feel like saying right now, I'd be banned for sure. Suffice it to say your post displays the profound ignorance of the suffering this Proposition has caused.

My Dear,

A bigot is ONLY a person who has no rational explanation for his/her opinions. The Bible is a rational reason and I can quote you some verses if you like. On the other hand, calling people bigots simply because you disagree with their rational assessments is bigotry.

Being able to rationalize or not your stances is not the definition of bigotry.

From Merriam-Webster: a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices ; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance.

And so man and woman can get married. But back then, man and woman was child (about the age of 13), so I guess that means that Jesus is all for people marrying at 13 .

Prop. 13
Hereby define marriage as between a man and woman, where man and woman is meant to refer to a male or female at or above the age of 12, repetitively.

Also, back in the day, there were the rape laws of Deut. in practice, but Jesus up held them.

There is also the whole fact that marriage was an institution of property ownership, not much different from slavery. While we killed slavery, marriage just evolved.

Can I call a founding member of the KKK a bigot?

Exactly what is a bigot anyways? I can tell it is something negative, but I'm not actually sure what it is.
