OK here's my take. First off, there are Lady Bugs, which are red with black spots. Then there is a European variety that are orange with black spots and actually bite. The European variety are the only ones that I see any more.

That aside, I use Ortho Home Defense. You spray it around the base of your house as well as doorways, windows and electrical sockets.

You can also use it indoors, so long as you keep any indoor pets away until it dries.

I still see them around the yard and garden outside, but no insects live inside of the house for as long as four months.

I hope that we have given you some good suggestions.
Stephen :)

there are also lady birds ( bugs ) which are blue in colour and green in colour

but lady birds only come inside if they have something to eat . remove their food and they will go .

Short of spraying the outside of your home with a beetle repellent to keep existing beetles out, your home may have already become a breeding place for the ladybugs. Harmless as they might be, they really are a nuisance when they are into everything. I would really try Ortho Home Defense. Here is the issue. You have to spray every place you have ever seen a lady bug come out of, meaning all of the windows, floors, doors, all inside and out. Make sure no children or pets can get to it. Then follow up with a spray around your home. You'll see a higher percentage in your home during spring and fall, due to the thaw and freeze weather patterns. If this fails, you may need to turn to professional pest removal services to remove your problem.
