• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

How can something be rejected that is not fully comprehended? I think people reject the "God' that they have been shown, or the "gift" as its been defined by various groups but I doubt seriously that if God completely reveals himself to a person and they grasped him and what was offered that they would reject it...

I suppose I was coming at this more from the angle of that which God does and less from the perspective of that which a person does. If I have a winsome God actively pursuing me, am I apt to reject Him? We land in similar places.

So then, if God knows that the person he is wooing does not fully understand what the decision entails, it seems unlikely to me that God will penalize that person for making a decision without knowing all the facts.... I find it hard to believe that God would punish eternally someone who didn't understand what was at stake... Likewise I have little faith in most who say they follow God to accurately convey the message they say God has given them.... So must people experience God for themselves, I think so...

Or at least knowing relevant facts about what is at stake. I suspect that He reveals such relevant facts in His timing.

I do too.

I agree that people do a poor job of conveying God. And yet God still reveals Himself to people. I find that comforting.

Our belief is the Lord's work.

Judg 17:6
6 In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes. KJV

Judg 21:25
25 In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes. KJV

Prov 21:2
2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts. KJV

There are two events that set behind the witness in Judges 17 and 21.

Man does not know his heart. It is deceitful above all things. Man's heart is hardened through the deceitfulness of comfort and praise.
