Star, what Im saying is that throughout ones life God makes Himself and all He is apparent taht he really is there before one dies, wether it be through expeirences in ones life ...

My experience in life has taught me that God is not needed to explain anything.

 ... a fellow christian, ...

Christians like Fred Phelps, Jack Chick, Dr. Dino, Jerry Falwell, Billy Graham, pedophile priests, plus a score I've known personally have taught me that Christian truth is at times found on lies, prejudice, and corruption.

Am I supposed to believe that Christianity has something special to offer when I see so many Christian hypocrites around?

... or anything else everyone will see the truth, they will accept and know it or they will deny and remain ignorant of it.

I am not ignorant of the claims of Christianity, I just don't believe it, much like you don't believes the claims of a faith practised by 1.2 billion Moslems.

So, let's say I finally get the proof I've been looking for, I meet the big G when I die and  I say, "Well I'll be, hey, your followers sure made it hard to believe, but I believe now!"

So, I accept His truth at this time, no problems, all I needed was proof.  See you in heaven.

Doesnt work like that. Once you die its to late, you gotta see it before then.

So he will send me to Hell even though I accept and believe in him?

So I'll just accept every God known to man on my deathbed.  Won't that work?  I've got to cover all my bases here.

I can't help but wonder why it so, so important that you must be a Christian while alive on Earth to get on the gravy train.  Is it because Christianty as a religion somehow benefits from Earthly believers?

Star, it works like this. The hole point is that you DONT have to die, you have to demonstrate your treu faith in the Lord by believeing in Him, following Him, and doing alll you can to follow His Word and spread His Word while living. If you die, its obvious, your going to know and believe Hes there, but you never lived for Him. You just doubted He was there all that time until you were finally forced to see the truth. Its like I said before, you dont live a life of luxury for doing nothing, and you dont get everlasting life for doing nothing. Is this so hard to understand?

LouisBooth: part of the process is to make mistakes and learn from them. I would hope that you would not turn your back on science simply because all questions have not been answered. Look how long the human race had to wait for Thomas Edisson to invent the light bulb, who incidentaly was not a Christian.

Warrior4Jah: you say to follow and spread his word? his word seems to be nothing more than getting other people to do the same. {follow and spread his word} if I dont get "everlasting life" for trying to live in peace and treating others the way I would want to be treated then I am not interested in this reward from your God.

"The faith in which I was brought up assured me that I was better than other people; I was saved, they were damned.... Our hymns were loaded with arrogance -- self-congratulation on how cozy we were with the Almighty and what a high opinion he had of us, what hell everybody else would catch come Judgment Day."

And I suppose you are not really using a computer to communicate with us?

so how illogical and silly that statment is star? <IMG alt="" src="http://www.christianforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif" border=0>

Not really.&nbsp; Science is self-correcting.&nbsp; The computer sitting on your desk is a result of this process.&nbsp;&nbsp;Imagine if scientists have been as stubborn as religionists over the course of human history.

They would be just as they are today, inquiring minds answering questions. Now if you want to discuss the POLITICAL REASONS thats a whole other story. AGain, I was showing how silly your statement was.

Thats also a another oponion Caffeine, to us, atheists are far more stubborn then religionists, but then again.... Religionists arent just christian but people who adhere to any one religion, not Christianity. Im sure there are many religions who wouldnt give a crap (excuse my crudeness).

Disapointment! :sigh:

I saw this Atheist only thread and thought cool

Think I will sneak in and see what Atheist talk about when they are not trying to figure out God.

But this thread is no different then all the rest.

Atheist crying about burning in Hell.

Christians saying, You had a choice. :sorry:

Seems kind of wierd for you to be spending all your time thinking about someone you say does not even exist.

 I can't figure you guys out!
