I find this mixture of religion and politics interesting. But it is what it is. Not much point.

It shows me how far many Christian ministers have strayed from the real message of Jesus, and what an appalling example they set for those they have turned away from God.

When I see the sins of the Religious Right, I hang on with all my might to the Jesus who reveals himself to me and leads me to the truth.

That failure to love is the greatest sin, and that our sins of omission can be the most serious.

That doesn't surprise me, considering conservative, white Evangelicals, a strong base of the GOP, spent decades demonizing "secular humanism", whereas Democrats have always tended to be a religiously diverse party, ever since the late 19th century (at one time, Jews, Catholics, and Orthodox Christias were also overwhelmingly Democrats).
