Well before one worries about the other side shouldn't one get their own side in order first?
And they eat puppies.
tulc(just sayn')
I found that billboard by answersingenesis to be rather poignant. The first one I did not understand. The third is a taunt.
A hypocrite is a person who teaches something and does the opposite. These atheists were not; just jerks.
I am pretty sure the Asian one is shoped.
Not just puppies but sandwiches made with two puppies and a baby in the middle.......without mustard.
I am pretty sure the Asian one is shoped.
That was my impression.

how could such a blatant assault on the Christian Faith be allowed to exist in a public place? I must have missed the memo that harsh bigotry is now permitted to be displayed for the masses. Please be kind enough to post your thoughts on this base defilement of civility. Thanks!
I figure it kind of makes sense. How is poignant?
Is that what I wrote? Are you saying that just because someone doesn't believe in a god they don't care about anyone or anything?
The dictionary describes a taunt as a noun meaning " A remark made in order to anger, wound, or provoke someone. ". Given that, and this:The third is not a "taunt" it's saying that if you're not a Christian you can't be a true American.
I conclude it is a taunt, and it worked on you.As a daughter and granddaughter of former Marines, I find this deeply offensive.
Me too. Now, do I think the American Atheist billboards are pushing it? Yes, I do.
I don't see many of those, so I can't say much about them. But I can say that offense is a subjective thing. However, there have been a lot of billboards put up by atheist organizations that are said to be offensive, when they are clearly not.
I never saw that one. However it seems obvious why people find it offensive: it smacks of the pride and arrogance that goes back all the way to the first sin in the Garden. As if a sinful heart can be called good. How arrogant. Actually, the more I think about it the more offensive it seems."One nation, indivisible" was how the original pledge was written. The bus signs "Millions are good without god" was seen as offensive as well. Why?
I never put up any billboard and I never called you a jerk.So you stick up for billboards that are not only blatantly derogatory, you call us the jerks for something that's tame in comparison.
I agree with you on the 'fail' part. That whole sentence is full of 'fail'. EPIC 'fail'.I fail to see how calling a story a myth is worse than setting out to make a group of people look like they're anti-American and causing a civil war and blood thirsty, killers.
I was flipping through the magazine "The Week" the other day and a certain article happened to catch my eye. The article in particular commented on a billboard that was erected around Christmas that was sponsored by "American Atheists." This vulgar advertisement sported the message "You KNOW it's a myth, this season celebrate reason." This proclamation was apparently in response to unrest among atheists of the region due to public Nativity Scenes and other displays of Christmas Spirit. By the time I finished the article i was thoroughly steamed; how could such a blatant assault on the Christian Faith be allowed to exist in a public place? I must have missed the memo that harsh bigotry is now permitted to be displayed for the masses. Please be kind enough to post your thoughts on this base defilement of civility. Thanks!

Never said you put up the billboards, you just defended them. Since I am an atheist, you calling atheists jerks would be calling me one as well.I never put up any billboard and I never called you a jerk.
EPIC fail isn't much of an argument. Care to elaborate?I agree with you on the 'fail' part. That whole sentence is full of 'fail'. EPIC 'fail'.
Hey Grizzly, the war on Christmas has been carried over!
But it's almost St. Patricks Day! It's hard for me to switch back to the war on Christmas when I am engaged in a war on shamrocks. I just can't fight a war on two fronts!

I don't recall saying that. I stated that people find those ads you spoke offensive because they are making very arrogant statements, the variety of arrogance being very old. What you call original sin, I call an unnecessary guilt trip. If you don't think I'm a good person because I don't believe that I'm being punished for two people eating a piece of fruit from a magical tree thousands of years ago, so be it.
I did not defend any billboards outside of saying that one of them struck a note with me in a certain way. That's not even claiming the billboard is justified. And, I said 'these' atheists were being jerks. 'These' is a personal pronoun referring to a specific group of people. Welcome to the English language.Never said you put up the billboards, you just defended them. Since I am an atheist, you calling atheists jerks would be calling me one as well.
Not really. I'm frustrated by how you misunderstand about every other sentence I write. Let's focus on your reading ability first.EPIC fail isn't much of an argument. Care to elaborate?

'These' is NOT a personal pronoun; 'I', 'you', 'he', 'she', etc. are personal pronouns. 'These' isn't a pronoun at all the way you used it - you are not substituting 'these' for any noun. You used it a a determinate adjective to modify the noun 'atheists' (which atheists? these atheists).
