Atheism: Your Views

What do you guys think about atheists? Are they bad people, good people? Just your general thoughts really.

every orchard has good trees and bad trees atheists [or Christians for that matter] are neither good nor bad. To say that atheists or Christians are good or bad would kind of be a form of prejudice wouldn't you say? So I'm gonna say that SOME atheists are bad.... not all. Just like some Christians are bad.... not all

I strongly agree with this. I wanted to collect an opinion of a group because I have a very close-minded friend who believes that if you don't believe in any sort of God you won't end up living a good life. Of course I'm also open for more speculation if you have an opinion.

I agree also. People with good loving hearts and good intentions come from all walks of life. The same as people with closed hearts and no good intentions come from all walks of life. You don't have to be a atheist to be a closed down cold person.

I wouldn't say they were good or bad..

infact I'd go so far as to stick my neck out and say they're people, just like everyone else stuck on this rock. Its just your regular joes, nothing unusual about them.

Most of my friends are Atheists but we are friends because we have mutual respect of one another.
They know im a Christian and they understand I have the right to religious expression, which i exercise without any dilemmas from them. In response I judge them their character and not by their lifestyle, which draws us together.

On the other-hand, there are some far-left Atheists such as the ACLU who attempt to diminish the role of Christianity in our society. Unlike my friends, these people dont recognise my right to religious expression.

But in short, I believe the lifestyle they choose to lead is bad, but I dont believe that makes them bad people.

Depends on the atheist. There are respectful ones out there, which I don't have problems with. And there are plenty of disrespectful atheists out there, who go out of their way to trash on my faith, that characterwise, I have nothing good to say about.

The ACLU isn't Atheist. They've actually defended numerous religious groups in the past including the Westboro Baptist Church. When the organization first formed, it actually became most known for defending conscientious objectors such as Quakers and the Amish.

I used to be one myself, so I can understand completely where they are coming from with these views.

I don't think anything in particular of Atheists really, seeing as they're just like...everyone else.

Don't like the hardcore rude ones, but then, we've got some hardcore rude folk on our side too...

Atheists are people. That pretty much sums it up.
I have met fanatical atheists hellbent on converting others to their point of view lacking a shred of respect.
I have met humble and respectful atheists willing to listen and share life experience as equals.
I have met stupid atheists.
I have met intelligent atheists.

Atheists are people. Beliefs do not change that fact.

And I think something is wrong with your logic as well, since you can't see how the existence of all living things on this earth points to evolution, rather than creation.

As for what I think of atheists, I think they're a very intelligent bunch of people who have a healthy appetite for knowledge and who realize that science is not a bad thing and that science shouldn't be feared, like some Christians think it should. But then again, I myself am an atheist, so my opinion is a bit biased.

Evolution does not prove nor disprove creation. Evolution is not a theory involving genesis. Only exactly what it says - evolution. It coexists quite well with creation.

The existence of all living things doesn't point to evolution. It took a lot of scientific study to get there.

You are biased .

There are plenty of atheists who are unintelligent and ignorant of science. They're not all like you.

Well- I was an atheist before I found my faith (indeed a long story)... as to what I think of them? well humans just like us- i don't think they are bad- i was one and was not a "bad person".... but now with my found faith your definition of Good and bad change....

Overall there are just people with their believes like no body else. it takes faith to be an atheist and faith to believe in G-d... it's up to the person in my opinion
