My friend has said hes Atheist, but then he sometimes says Agnostic. But his beliefs he said are that there quote "Theres no god of any sorts, all religions are man made, life has no purpose!".

I couldn't live like that personally. I rather someone be Agnostic then an a Atheist. Because at least your not entierly sure and maybe might find meaning in life. To have no meaning in life would make me suicidal. I think being an Atheist is more dangerous to your health because of this. It might make you put no value on anything.

I had another friend who was a die hard atheist and felt nothing had any value. He would laugh when he heard of babies being molested then killed. He said you don't need to care if life has no purpose. **** happens he would say also.

Agnostists are agnostics. They fall into the catagorey of don't know or can never know. If anything atheists these days are agnostics.
Back in the early days they call them unregenerated or the reprobates. Goats and weeds. They have no choice to know or not to know. God first regenerates and then faith follows. No regeneration means no faith. No faith means they don't know and might not ever know.

TIP: Atheist can never reject God if they don't know what God is or are or even can be.

Even the arminian sheep thinks they can reject God via non-existent free will. They too are agnostics with a bucket over their heads to blind them

I would hope that you aren't implying what you seem to be implying. From the description of you 2 atheist friend you seem to be implying that all atheists are morally bankrupt.

As an atheist I can tell you that I am far from morally bankrupt. I have empathy for my fellow man and would never refuse to help someone in need. Life to me has a lot of meaning and purpose. And now you know at least one atheist who doesn't share a pessimistic or negative view on life.

I'm an atheist and I'm not entirely sure there are no gods. I am as certain there are no gods as I am there is no Santa Claus.

However, to be honest, your descriptions and anecdotes about atheists sound more like inventions for shock value or as mere appeals to emotion.

Faith follows knowledge, not the other way around.

Christians being saved by their faith ...a gifted faith... and NOT by how much we knew about election.

There's no necessity of knowing you are Elect to be elected !

Limited Atonement makes no demand for either a knowledge of election as doctrine, or knowledge of our own personal election.

Don't wait to discover yourself in the air

I was a lost sheep but of course, nobody (even atheist) "comes to Christ". Christ comes to the Elect ...His sheep, not the other way around. And he always rounds up the strays and leaves the goats behind without any knowledge.

The goats are carried away by a very bad angel.

Not all atheists are nihilists.

The above makes your friend an atheist.

life has no purpose!

This has nothing to do with atheism.

I couldn't live like that personally.

I couldn't either. It's a good thing atheists don't have to be nihilists.

I had another friend who was a die hard atheist and felt nothing had any value. He would laugh when he heard of babies being molested then killed. He said you don't need to care if life has no purpose. **** happens he would say also.

This guy is just a psycho. Even philosophical nihilists don't normally act that way.

Actually it does. Without God there is no purpose for life. So if you don't believe in God then you have no purpose in life. Of course this is a christian stance and you'll say otherwise. And yet people I've talked to who are atheist can't tell me what the purpose of life is! They have to think about it. It usually ends with some sort of joke like "Life about sex!" or "Life is about enjoying it!".

Many atheists don't see it that way. It seems only theists are willing to hang all purpose on the existence of a deity.

Actually it does. Without God there is no purpose for life.

Incorrect. Without God (or gods) there is no divine purpose for life.

There may very well be either naturalistic or existential purposes for life in the absence of divine purpose.

Of course this is a christian stance and you'll say otherwise.

I don't care what your stance is. I'm not reacting to your stance. Christianity could disappear from the planet and become a complete non-issue and I'd still take the same stance.

And yet people I've talked to who are atheist can't tell me what the purpose of life is! They have to think about it. It usually ends with some sort of joke like "Life about sex!" or "Life is about enjoying it!".

You haven't spoken to enough atheists. It sounds like you were speaking with young and not particularly philosophical atheists who hadn't thought deeply about such issues.

I would not hesitate at all to give you my answer. The purpose of life is to flourish as the unique and irreplaceable individual that is yourself.

While pleasure isn't evil, I'm not talking about some purely hedonistic existence.

You are invited to expand on this, which - so far - is but a nonsequitur.
Not expandable. If God IS the present and if theres no present then nothing would exist. no present means no future.

Will the atheist stay in the past with no one to reincarnate into?

Heres the tip. The atheist cares nothing about the present since they always think about the past or the future. They skip over the Present Living God. The one that IS ALIVE and LIVING in absolute real time.
