Beloved ones, this is what we have heard:
“Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.”
Romans 12:16 NKJV
Beloved ones, apostle Paul urged us to be of the same mind toward one another in Christ Jesus. Let us not set our minds on high things, but ASSOCIATE WITH THE HUMBLE. Also, let us not be wise in your own opinion but let us seek counsel from the Lord.
Also, this is the counsel that we have heard:
“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,
who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,
but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.
And being found in appearance as a man, He HUMBLED HIMSELF AND BECAME OBEDIENT TO THE POINT OF DEATH, EVEN THE DEATH OF THE CROSS.”
Philippians 2:5-8 NKJV
Beloved ones, didn’t we hear that our Lord as a man, He humbled Himself became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross ? Didn’t apostle Paul urge us to associate with the humble? So let us associate with our humble Lord.
Beloved ones, how we should associate with our humble Lord.
This is what we have heard:
“However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.”
I Timothy 1:16 NKJV
Beloved ones, for this reason we obtained mercy, that in us first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.
As we also heard:
“For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: “Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”; who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.”
I Peter 2:21-24 NKJV
So beloved ones, we associate with our humble Lord, that we,having died to sin, that we should live for righteousness.
Also, we heard:
“For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,”
Philippians 1:29 NKJV
Beloved ones, we associate with our humble Lord, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake.
About suffering, this rebuke we also heard :
“Have you suffered so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain?”
Galatians 3:4 NKJV
How we should consider this rebuke ? Let us hear again the rebuke:
“O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified?
This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?
Have you suffered so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain?
Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?—
just as Abraham “believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.””
Galatians 3:1-6 NKJV
So beloved ones, we should obey the truth, for before our eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among us as crucified, that we learned that we received the Spirit by the hearing of faith.
So those who were foolish,
they were those who began in the Spirit considered themselves made perfect through the flesh, such that they have suffered so many things in vain, for they bear the works of the flesh.
But those who are wise, they are those who began in the Spirit made perfect in the Spirit, such that their sufferings bear the fruits of the Spirit.
Beloved ones, let us associate with our humble Lord, and suffer for His sake, that we may bear the fruits of the Spirit, and bring delights to our Heavenly Father.
To God be all glory and power forever and ever. Amen
