My son is, that's why I'm going to open a thread asking which is the best way to go - PS3, Xbox 360, or upgrade his PC.

Somehow I missed the part where they were putting it on PC too! I'm so glad. I have PS2, and no plans for buying another console lol ^_^ This game looks awesome. Saw previews for it on Comedy Central I think. :)

My son bought a PS3 and finished Resistance: Fall of Man on the weekend and is now immersed in Assassin's Creed. I haven't been able to talk to him yet, but when he comes up for air I'll ask him :)

In other words he loves it and can't stop playing. When I've walked by it looks really 'cool' to use an old guy term.

I hired at the weekend and I am glad I didn't spend any money on it. I recently read the 360 review over at IGN and the reviewer nailed it. It was repetitive and their was no stealth at all what???? For a game that supposedly prides itself on assassinations, the killing is all pretty much hit and miss. What a let down. Yeah it looks nice, but after the first 3 or 4 assassinations I was bored senseless. As for the finale, what a joke..... The game basically involves pickpocketing, beating someone up, going to the bureau and killing the target  Try doing that nine times

COD4 anyday over this, hell, even Halo 3 and that's saying something.

Avoid wasting ya money and rent........

ALL games get repetetive, they all use a formula and will rigidly stick to it throughout the game, its the mechanics of the game that sold it in the first place,ie COD 4,killing,sneaking,big explosions and battles - splinter cell, shoot light out, sneak, knock enemy out and so on and so on

as for assasins creed its the freedom which is its selling point and also the ability to climb most buildings,i think thats a neat concept

It IS a stealth based game. Climb to the roofs so you won't be seen, kill the scouts, archers you come across to remain... hidden! Get spotted? Kill witnesses or run to a safe spot so you can try again.

Repetitive, yes, but so was Call of Duty 4, especially if you play on Veteran. And Halo 3 was king of repetition, back and forth, back and forth, nothing new just back and forth shooting.
