• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

It MUST be! My 2 Aspie kids ask my wife and me questions constantly - I think they're trying to connect new knowledge to old familiar knowledge.

We really try to be patient, but after a few hours ...

Is asking a lot of questions an aspie trait or does that fall under OCD? I seem to have that problem in the few regular jobs I've taken.

I just saw a neuro-psychologist for the first time last week. AFAIK, they are more specialized in ASDs. He was telling me it is only OCD if your that way all the time. For Aspies (w/o OCD), we are only that way when we are on a project of some kind or another. Using a phrase from TV's A-Team, when we are "on the jazz." Once the project is completed, we get more relaxed.

I love it when a plan comes together...

I got his name from a local chapter of Autism Society of America. If you call your nearest chapter, they might be able to tell you the nearest provider who works with adults. I am generally discouraged with regular psychologists. They seem to over-pathologize this condition.
