• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hey,

I just decided to quit smoking again. I've already quit cold turkey two times and it wasn't hard, after a few days I felt much better and the withdrawal symptoms went away. So I know I can get through this. I just must be strict with myself.

I don't want to quit because I see smoking as a sin. I'm doing it for the money mainly, and for health. I live from a german social security income because I am chronically ill ... it's not much and I can't really justify spending 100 Euros or more, per month, for cigarettes. I want to have some money for the more useful things in life.

Please pray that I can get through the first difficult days. Then I know it will be easier. When I quit the first time I couldn't stand the smell of smoke anymore and it was so easy after a while not to desire cigarettes again. I hope this will happen now too.

Thank you and God bless!

I feel your pain.. I was lucky enough to stay off of it once I went cold turkey... For me, it wasn't as hard I guess.. if you won't get too freaked out by health-related pictures, I suggest you look up pictures that show the bad effects of smoking.. it will definitely help you stay strong.. Wishing you luck and God bless!! :)

Here to pray for all of us. I gladly will do this for you Lutherangerman. Asvin, you are too young to let this get out of hand. You see us that have smoked for 15 -2o years? Damage is done to our lungs. I don't want you to go there. Prayed.

I already quit, but thanks for looking out for me :)
