• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

In a word, no.

There shouldn't be a problem. Depending on who you ask, confessing our sins can be as simple as a few words or something like a short list.

What matters is that you recognize you sinned and understand that Jesus Christ died for our sins and that God is wanting to forgive you, wash you clean and set you free.

Now as for asking forgiveness for the exact same thing over and over, that's unnecessary. I know I can sometimes find myself doing so when the thoughts hit.

It is.

I have also found that I am very self-condemning at times. I sometimes forget to forgive myself, which is a form of unforgiveness.

If Jesus Christ died for my sins and God, being perfectly just, accepts His blood as atonement, then what right have I to hold my own already-forgiven sin against myself.

How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God! Hebrews 9:14

One of the works of sin is guilt, which leads to sorrow, which leads to death. I am learning to receive God's forgiveness by placing my faith in Jesus, and I can literally feel His peace wash over me where before I only felt condemnation for days.

I hope this is of some help to you.

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. Ephesians 1:17
