CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes and no. I am getting sick of the blazing heat. Also, the end of summer is the beginning of fall when football season starts.
No, in the fact that I get my summers off because I am a coach/teacher. The kids return to school Wednesday, so I have to try and get myself ready for that.

Well, that is a yes and no answer. I am ready to get back because that means football season is upon us. I am not ready because I have been so busy with meetings and football that I haven't had time to get all of my classroom stuff together. If I can just make it through this week, I will be ok. I just need to make it through the first 3 days, then I will have my bearings and I will be in my groove. It all starts in the morning!

I technically have 3 classes per day. We are on a block schedule, so each class is 93 minutes long. The students attend the class every day, and the get the full credit at the end of the semester. So, I only have the students for 1 semester.
This semester, I teach 1 physical science and 1 environmental science class. My 3rd class is actually football. Here, athletics are a class period in the day. So, I teach 2 classroom subjects, 1 planning period, and athletics. I am actually looking at doing lunch duty during my planning period next semester, as it pays an additional $10 per hour when I am doing the duty. If I do 2 lunch periods per day, I will make about $200 a month a extra, which I plan on putting into a savings/retirement fund.

Yes, summer vacation is over. We have been back to school for 1 and 1/2 weeks so far. It's been up and down, but overall, things are going well.
Yes, I have someone tell me I changed their life. He told me had I not been there to take him in, be a friend, and show him what a Christian man should be, he would be dead or in prison. By taking him in and helping him in many ways, he told me I helped turn him around from a life that was leading down the right path.
