  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm opening up this thread for anyone who wants to ask me a question. But I can't promise anything. I'll do my best to answer you. Actually, there's not really a lot of things I consider myself to be an "expert" on, but that doesn't mean that I won't attempt to answer (at least some of) the questions that arise in this thread.

I'm not online all the time, so please allow time if I don't get to your question right away. I can't guarantee that I will get to ALL of the questions, anyways.

I do promise to at least *read* all questions posed, even if I am unable to answer them or give any kind of dignified response. Thank you.

Can you solve these simultaneous equations and find the values of x and y?

Equation 1: 2x +

That's as much as I could see of the first equation. I couldn't even see the second one. Must be some kind of computer problem. Sorry.

What do you think of the 90's? (you've dropped a lot of hints the answer to this should be interesting)

Well, if you are referring to the crop of post-alternative top 40 bands that appeared briefly in the late 90's, then you would know that I'm not too fond of them.

Otherwise, I think the 90's were actually pretty cool.

◘ What is your favorite brand of popcorn?
◙ What do you like on your popcorn (salt, butter, caramel)?
◘ If a time machine were invented, would you want to take a ride in it?
◙ What era would you most likely want to go back to? Why?
◘ How far into the future would you want to travel? What kind of information would you look for? Would you try to change the future in the 'present' time with the information you gathered?

? What is your favorite brand of popcorn?
? What do you like on your popcorn (salt, butter, caramel)?
? If a time machine were invented, would you want to take a ride in it?
? What era would you most likely want to go back to? Why?
? How far into the future would you want to travel? What kind of information would you look for? Would you try to change the future in the 'present' time with the information you gathered?

1. Movie popcorn.

2. That yellow salty stuff.

3. Time travel sounded neat when I was a kid. Now, I think it would be disorienting and I'd get "carsick" from the ride or something.

4. I'm more interested in the present. But maybe I'd go back to around 1950 or so and purchase some stock market shares in my name, if I could.

5. I don't want to know the future.

◘ Do you believe that people in general place a higher value on the upkeep of animals than human beings?
○ Have you ever volunteered at a homeless shelter? If not, why? If so, what was the most shocking thing that you observed?
◘ Would you want your children to put you in a retirement home? Do you feel that the elderly are often mistreated there? If so, what should be done about it?
○ What is your opinion of music/movie filesharing (P2P)? Do you feel that it should be illegal? If so, what do you believe is fair punishment for those who break the law?
◘ If you had to remodel one room in your house/apartment, which room would you remodel? Be specific in design changes and design details. Why would you choose this room?

Those questions are kind of deep and personal. I can't answer them at this time. I was a lot more comfortable with the popcorn type stuff.

As far as the dog/vacuum cleaner, I'll explain it this way. He sees it as some kind of alien/monster. It's truly that terrifying in his eyes. If he had access to a gun and knew how to use it things my get ugly. He is also saddened and confused by your "alliance" with this abomination of nature. His IQ is only about one, so he has no concept of the idea of "cleaning." He will never be able to accept it... for as long as he lives. It's just a recurring nightmare which he may have vague memories of, which he has to endure from time to time.
