  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I think I'm going to ask a mod to rename this thread. Or I'll start a new one. This thread was started two years ago when I had just changed my username to Historia. That'll teach me to quit changing my username. :D

ETA: Mod magic was quick! Thread title is now changed.

No, but I'd like to get one of either a turtle or a phoenix on my right leg above my ankle.

Have you done this yet? :p

Ok, so after going through here:

How would you like a camping trip to go? As in, the itinerary....what you love to do while out in nature.

What kinds of electives did you take while in college?

What do you consider "wild but clean fun" exhibited by you?

What themes do you prefer around you (home decor)

For some reason, when I think of history I think of painting/art. I assume you have some favorite artists/works. ;)

As in seasonal shows, do you have any preferences?

What quirks do you have? Odd talents?

No. I still want it, but have been lacking in the money department.

It's been so long since I've gone camping. Well, when I was younger, camping involved swimming in a lake, eating frozen custard from stands selling the stuff, and exploring. I still love exploring (and eating frozen custard more than I should:yum:), so I'd probably do a lot of that and hiking and sit around the campfire telling stories after dark.

What kinds of electives did you take while in college?

intro to asian philosophy, buddhism* (as religion, not philosophy), extra world history classes, congress: politics and policy, intro to urban studies, psychology of women, environment and society, hmong culture....

*I wanted to take more non-western religion classes like Islam, but that was the only one my small university offered. I'd love to have been able to take some classes on the history of Christianity, too.

What do you consider "wild but clean fun" exhibited by you?

I've had myself described as crazy, but not wild, so I'm not sure. I guess random every day type stuff...like dancing to Shakira videos, singing and dancing in the grocery store (did that again recently). Either I'm incredibly boring or my brain doesn't want me to think of "wild but clean fun." I'll blame my brain. :D

What themes do you prefer around you (home decor)

Themes? I'm kind of eclectic. I like the idea of a rubber ducky themed bathroom, a bedroom in greens and browns to give the idea of sleeping in a forest, and I love red curtains and sofas for a living room. I definitely love the modern look for a living room.

For some reason, when I think of history I think of painting/art. I assume you have some favorite artists/works. ;)

I love sculptures. I love how alive they seem to bring history. I don't have a favorite artist, but I really liked the Buddha sculptures at the MET and Rodin sculptures at the North Carolina Museum of Art.

As in seasonal shows, do you have any preferences?

The only show I regularly followed is Lost. I watch Doctor Who, too, but that's it.

What quirks do you have? Odd talents?

Other than singing and dancing in grocery stores? :p
I'm fascinated by personality type stuff. I like to make everyone take the MBTI, Color Code, and I find out what their signs are (Western and Chinese astrology). Yes, I know that astrology is frowned upon in Christian circles, but I don't do horoscopes. I just find the personality descriptions of signs to be really interesting.

I use to be into the Chinese years as in the animals assigned to them. That was, oh I was a preteen and it was after reading "Joy Luck Club". Pretty profound book for me in trying to put myself into the shoes of those above us in the familial aspect. Do you find stuff like the Meyer Briggs? test accurate? I was just aware of it like two weeks ago. It's interesting.

Ok, so:

1. Frozen custard??

2. Do you do Shakira around the corner of the aisles? That would be TALENT. :p

I think MBTI tests are accurate if you have a strong enough preference for one side or the other. If you can't pin down the personality, it's harder to say how accurate it is. I think that I am your typical INFJ, although according to a paid MBTI I took for a class, I'm not a strong N. So, I might have traits of an ISFJ, too.

I tend to think most personality things are accurate if the test is well done (so people properly understand the questions and it's long enough but not too long), with the possible exception of signs. I have a hard time believing that everyone born in a certain year will be a certain personality. Although I think I fit the descriptions of a Taurus and Horse. *shrugs*

1. It's like ice cream, but so much creamier and better. :yum: I think it might be a Wisconsin thing (we do like our dairy :D).

2. That would awesome. :D

Oh, and I forgot to say this last time I replied to you: I love your new avatar!
