CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

no; I considered going out for track and field or tennis but I was WAYYY too shy.....Also I was really involved in ballet outside of school and that took up a lot of my time so I really couldn't have attended sports practice.

I don't really care for celebrities. Maybe Kate and Wills (would they be even considered celebrities?) simply for their style factor and they aren't tmi about things in general and seem really private. The press/media follows them but in a more formal way (and rightfully so) so the gross details of their lives aren't put out on a smorgasboard table for us all to see.

hmmmm. I don't think I would throw scripture at people just willy nilly. Even though I believe that the word of God will not return void. If someone asked me or was clear that they are open to God's word, I think that John 3:16 is good; simple enough to be understood; but yet with deepness of theology contained in it. Really, the entire gospel of John or some things in 1 John. Really I guess it depends on where the person is and what they are trying to understand. When I was not a Christian, the verse "God sets the lonely in families" (Psalm 68) made an impact on me.
