  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What were you up to today?

Do you like raisons?

What era of the Simpsons do you like best?

If you kill a mouse in a mousetrap, and later find its nest with 5 mouse babies, what would you do with them?
My 8 year old niece came over and I tutored her in Reading. then we made cookies. Then we swang in my super bouncy fun swing. After she went home I cleaned a little bit , then I begin working on making a dress. I'm doing that on and off right now still.

I like rasians in moderation.

I don't like the early Simpsons, probably I like the early to mid 90's the best.

ewwwwww, I would scream and call my dad.

my dresses and skirts I wear, b/c I make them to fit me perfectly- store bought dresses and skirts don't always fit me well( I think i'm between sizes). I make a lot of purses- I use them or give them away or sell them even.

I've been asked to make children's clothes before. I've also had purse requests. I would like to open a small buisness.

I've tossed several names around in my head but nothing that really grabs me. Who knows , maybe i'll end up getting married and my husband will have an awesome last name or a great idea for me.

On this website? I dunno if that's allowed. Mainly my biggest barrier is time- i don't have enough of it to make things to sell. During the regular work week i'm too tired at the end of the day to sit over a sewing machince and be really attentive so i don't sew my finger. And when I have time off i'm soo exausted I don't want to sew things for other people- i need me time. If that makes sense. I'd love just to have time to build a collection and then find ways to market it.

Do you teach every subject to the same kids?

How much time do you spend preparing for each day's lessons?

Is there nap time for the kids?

How long is each day's recess?

Do you have your kids line up in a particular way (last name, etc.)?

Do you have a feeling that for some kids the parents basically do the homework?

Do you eat the cafeteria food for lunch?

Do you teach every subject to the same kids? Yes, unless they are pulled out for resource or extra help

How much time do you spend preparing for each day's lessons? Well i've been teaching 2nd grade for 4 years - not counting last year's wonderful hiatus, so I kind of know what to do everyday. So I don't spend much time planning lessons, but I spend a lot of time each day grading papers, doing paperwork on certian kids, and making center materials for the kids to use that go along with the lessons, and planning things like seating and management ideas.

Is there nap time for the kids? only for pre-K and K, 2nd graders don't take naps, but they probably should. I know it would make me much happier

How long is each day's recess? only about 15 min. but at least we get it everyday this year; Last time i was a classroom teacher we could only have it on the days we didn't have PE. All these stupid rules coming down from the county office, from high-ups who have never taught in a classroom and don't understand how important it is everyday for kids to play. It really bugs me.

Do you have your kids line up in a particular way (last name, etc.)? Sometimes, mostly when i try to do that the kids all want to talk about their last name and what letter it starts with and what color shirt they are wearing instead of just lining up and it takes us forever to get to our destination. I have a very talkative and low on self control group this year, so I mainly line them up by tables.

Do you have a feeling that for some kids the parents basically do the homework? Not this year, I have a bright group and i think they all do the work. But I have had some in the past where parents did the homework for them- in their handwriting! So i just made the kid either do it agian (if they were capable of it and were just trying to get out of it) or gave them something on their level and had them do it at school.

Do you eat the cafeteria food for lunch? yes. I used not to and made my lunch everyday, but I just don't have time now. It's just easier to get a lunch there. Our cafeteria management changed and we get pretty tasty things.
