CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

hmmmm, I would want to be pretty like my mom. They are both pretty much the same moral and integrity and intelligence wise.

I have kids that come back to see me all the time
no, i've had kids that have done pretty bad stuff that stunned me though.

What do you think of alternative certifcation programs? How easy are they to get into? etc. . . I'm actually kind of interested in possibly doing one of these so I'd like any information you have.

Honestly, I don't think they prepare teachers to teach very well- they don't prepare people for the real pressures of teaching. I wouldn't recomend them to anyone. All the teachers i've known who came through alternative certification programs, did not do very well as a teacher. I think they can work well for certian subject matter for high school level.

I had a high school teacher that would take me to church every weekend. She became like a Christian mother to me and really discipled me and taught me a lot about how to love the Lord with your whole life.
