the MCSA would definitely give us the ability to "write our own ticket" pretty much. I can understand this statement.

I too am not certified (as far as teaching). They consider me "reteach." Yeah go ahead and have a field day with that statement. It just means I can't teach new concepts (like new tech concepts).

It's funny because, even though I am not a "certified" teacher, even the teachers will say "that is stupid that you can not teach new tech concepts, you are actually more qualified than we are to do that."

If you could, would you go back and teach? Sounds like you liked it.

What do you feel is your best physical feature?

I've never really given it much thought. I prefer to let others decide what feature is best.

What is your strongest personality trait?

I am very generous and helpful. Always ready to lend a helping hand.

What do you like about yourself the most?

I don't know if I like anything in particular about myself. Like I said, I prefer to let others decide what's good about me.

The least?

The thing I like least about myself is my weight. I need to lose about 8 kg (18 lbs)

What would you like to improve, with God's help?

Besides losing weight, the thing I need to improve most is my Bible study habits. I need to spend more time reading God's word.

I'm slacking a bit - no questions from me for a couple of weeks. I've been trying to come up with a really good question that makes you think. Hopefully, this is it. . . .

Looking ahead - what's something new and different you'd like to accomplish in the next 5 years?

I enjoyed teaching. At least, I did when the kids payed attention. I don' t know if I'd go back to it though. I like what I do now better.

I know what you're saying Theo. It certainly does seem like we have a whole new breed of kids on the horizon. We are very concerned for the kids we see coming through our doors now. Not only are they extremely disrespectful and almost down right defiant (collectively) but it seems like staff members are under the gun more (so to speak).

It seems like it is their word against ours and if you look at students cross eyed anymore YOU get in trouble; instead of the other way around. We have very little ways to keep them in line anymore. It's like everything you do to try to discipline gets turned around and manipulated into something negative.

Was that the worst part of it for you too?

I have noticed the last two years since I took over "teaching" in the lab that the worst thing for me is the students lack of independent thinking skills. I can not believe how helpless they are and the only thing we can come to the conclusion of is that their parents do everything for them

Did you see that too at your school?

I believe we are seeing in our schools now the direct consequence of removing our Lord from the public school system. And it ain't good folks. It really isn't. These kids need prayer like never before. Pray for God to be invited back into all public forums!

Within the next 5 years I hope that I'll be married, have a better paying job and be serving in a home based ministry of some sort.

That wasn't the worst part for me. I only had a problem with that once or twice. The part I hated was when they couldn't get a substitute teacher for another class and they asked me to watch over the kids (babysit) while they got to play on the computers.

I don't know what the reason is. Maybe it's that the parents do everything for them like you say. But, I have noticed that too. A lot of kids won't do anything unless everything is spelled out for them. They don't seem to be able to figure things out on their own and reading instructions seems to be entirely out of the question.

I think you're probably right about the effects of taking God out of the schools (and society in general). Fortunately, we don't have that problem here (yet). Although some people want to stop it, we still teach Bible stories in public schools right from the first grade. There is more of an emphasis on multiculture and teaching about other cultures and religions (mainly Islam for some reason) now though.

What would be your dream vacation if money was no object, and you could get time off (hehe)?

If I had the time and money, I would like to take a few months off and go visit all the lands mentioned in the Bible and see the places where all those stories happened - Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Greece, Rome and more not to mention Israel itself.

Of course, I have neither the money nor the time for such a trip. The next vacation I'm planning is a trip to Las Vegas for a couple of weeks around Easter. I'm really looking forward to it.

There are a few I visit often. The one's I visit every day that aren't work related are www.cnn.com and www.mbl.is (an Icelandic newspaper). I also go pretty regularly (nearly every day) to www.christianmingle.com.
So, do you still go to that last website?
Meet anyone interesting on it?
Would you recommend that kind of thing to other Christian singles looking for a lifetime partner?

I haven't been to CristianMingle for a couple of months. The last few times I went was just to check out their Bible Study and Theology board (aka Bicker Board). I found someone on CF so, I'm not looking any more.

That depends on your definition of "interesting". There was one guy on the Bible Study board that was "interesting". He had some of the weirdest theories I've ever heard. I don't suppose that's what you're asking about though.

I did meet a few women on there. Nothing that would have worked out in a long-term relationship though.

It seems to work for some people at least. I knew of a few couples on there that had been there longer than me that were getting married. But you gotta be careful though. I knew of one lady who had "known" somebody online for about a month but had never met him. She said she was moving to go marry him (she lived in Pennsylvania, he lived in Colorado). I hope it worked out for them but, I wouldn't recomend that for anyone.

To make a long answer short: Go ahead and give it a try but, don't get your hopes up too high and be careful.
