CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Do you have many children in your class with "ADHD"? I think an easier question is Do i have any children in my class without ADHD????? seriously though, I do have several that have been "diaganosed". I have a whole soapbox about that.
Do you believe "ADHD" warrants medication? hmm well i'm not a doctor, but from just my observation- the children on medication for ADHD(a lot not all) have other issues that has led to their inattention, they haven't been taught to pay attention as part of a social cue. Although I do believe that there are individuals with ADHD that need medication and that medication helps greatly, but I think they are few and far between. I don't think giving someone a pill- b/c they have extra energy- solves much of anything. just my unprofessional opinion

Is is mostly boys on medication? Does the kid/kid's parents have the option to opt out of medication?

yes it's mostly boys. Parents don't have to put their kids on medication- it's their choice- schools don't make children take medication. If i were a parent, i would do what i could to find workable strategies for my child before putting them on medicaiton for behavior. And i wouldn't think it's soley the teachers job to teach them to focus and learn. But unfortuately what i see from my perspective is that many parents don't want to deal with it or don't want or have the time to research how to help their child w/o just giving them a pill. Anyways i have a whole spill about that.
