How was teaching school today? Was it a smooth sailing day or did any trouble come up? today was long, i had no breaks today, the kids were wound up

Do you keep any music stored on your pc? no, i don't know how to do that

Do you find that more and more kids today are not interested in learning than say a few years ago? yes, many of their parents are not interested in learning- school is not important, learning outside of school is definitely not a priority to many, it's kind of discouraging

I've noticed that a lot lately, when a child should be able to read and write at a certain age and they don’t know how or they have trouble. It doesn’t seem to faze the parents .

When volunteering, have you ever come across someone that made you want to cry from their story? yes, when hurrican Katrina happened, this area got a lot of the refugees. Some were staying at a camp here in town. I went with a group to help feed them and got to talk with some of the kids and families. That made me cry- b/c i was so glad that they were ok and i wanted to do more for them.

That was so nice of you to go help feed and talk to them. I went down there to help about 3 weeks after that hurricane hit, it was so devastating to see it with your own eyes. Words couldn’t describe it.

yes, i was student teaching in the 3rd grade. I was in the work room cutting out things for later and the secretary ran in and turned on the tv. We just stood there and watched as the 2nd plane hit. I was scared. Then I had to go back to class and act as though everthing was ok. We didn't tell the students. I had no further info. of what was going on and i was very scared. I went back to my dorm and we didn't have a tv so i missed the footage of seeing it over and over. I caught bits and pieces in the student center. I remember being very confused and scared. I wanted to leave college and go home. I almost feel like i missed a lot of what was going on b/c i didn't have access to media except the radio. Since then i've seen the footage and heard what happened and there are no words for it.
