  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I feel that this website is very biased, because it exists only to allow further propoganda of a variety of Christian sects. I am very disturbed by how little most Christians here seem to know about science (based on discussion in the science forums) and I believe an "Ask a Scientist" forum would allow people to be properly educated on what science actually says about things. Virtually everyone I have spoken with is simply wrong in their assumptions or understanding of scientific theorys, and this does not allow for rational discussion. I could not discuss Christian Theology with anyone here if I was incorrectly read or taught the Bible, so how can we expect reasonable discussions about science if people here are not properly educated on it? I would be very interested in moderating it personally if such a position is needed. Thank you!

Well I guess it would be a little biased, it is called Christian Forum. I for one would enjoy having a scientist explaining to me the tech.'s of science, not the final truths, but explain the nuts and bolts of scientific study.

A layman's intro to science maybe for people like me who had to drop out of school at 16 to work, and never had the opportunity to return.

I assure you people, compared to richarddawkins forum (a dedicated Atheist forum), there is no shortage of scientific posting here.
I know of several scientific-minded psters here (myself, Cabal, Deamiter, of course, [serious]mod, and more), but my brief stay at richarddawkins revealed one; maybe two scientifically-literate posters. There was almost no one there to dispute or challenge my claim that Atheism cannot be reconciled with quantum mechanics, since they all but admitted their incompetence of the subject.

I would suggest that people ask questions in Physical & Life Sciences, and we'll see how that goes.

I suspect that question threads might get derailed by debates, but that's probably inevitable unless responses are restricted to professional scientists.
