That said, Ashlee Simpsons gets a thumbs down .

How rude! I'm serious about my music too! If you read any of my other music posts (re: DMB, or Incubus) you will see the most of my other taste in music is not "poppy"! Music, in fact, is my passion...so please don't sit here and make posts implying that I'm not "serious about music," because you don't even know me! Why his this thread all of the sudden turned into a little cat fight? Maybe I should move it to the teen section...I have a feeling people would be WAY more mature about it than some of you "adults" are acting! All I'm asking is that Ashlee Simpson FANS give me their POSITIVE opinions! I didn't come here asking for criticism!

At first I didn't like Ashlee becuase of her character on 7th Heaven. But after I saw her show on MTV I have to admit I want to buy her album, I know someone who did and said it is great. I love any kind of music and I dont really care what other people think. She is talented and she seems really sweet too!!

FINALLY!!! Someone who's not RUDE!!! THANK YOU ACICKEA!!! You rock! And I must say, if you haven't heard the ENTIRE album yet, you should DEFINITELY listen to it and/or buy! It's definitely worth the money! Like I said in some of my earlier posts...it hasn't left the CD player in my car since the day I bought it! If you can relate to heartbreak, love, and other "teen issues"...then this album is definitely for you!!

the only reason she has a record deal and a show is because of her older sister. You have the right to lije it, just don't fool yourself thinking she has talent or earned her record deal. I listen to pop music sometimes and enjoy it. I just realize it didn't take a lot of talent to make. And I'm not being rude by saying this.

Oh I know...I'm not denying that her sister played a large role in her record deal (especially since Jessica and Ashlee have the same manager--their father, Joe Simpson). But she DOES have alot of talent as a songwriter and she's got a good voice too! She's also pretty good at acting!

When bands liike Phish, Grateful Dead and The Beatles are discussed.....that is a music section, as I suggested before if you moved this to the teen section, you probably would get more respect....

Well...Ashlee sings...why isn't that considered music? Its just someone else's musical taste, and just because its not YOUR taste doesn't mean you have to bash it and say its not even considered music. Now how about some actual FANS come in here, cuz that's what this thread was made for

I said you weren't rude oldrooster, in particular, only because her comment seemed directed at you in particular. Remember this is an open forum. If somebody wants to do nothing but receive praise for Ashlee Simpson then they can join a fan club or dedicated message board. If they wanted to they could start their own. But everything that is said here is open to criticism, and this should never be forgotten. Nor should anybody ever make the mistake of thinking "If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all" is a reasonable assertion.

No no no, I wasn't saying you can't state your opionion. I just don't see how Ashlee Simpson is NOT music because that doesn't make sense. And the chef thing is a good analogy, but your a cook to some degree aren't you? Same with Ashlee, what she does IS music...although some of you may think its not very GOOD music but its still music. And this thread was mainly for fans, so if it bothers you that much why come in here?
