prayerfully what God is doing continues to spread
Was talking to my pastor this morning about that place. Some of his Pentecostal type Christian family members already went there to check it out. They felt the presence of The Holy Spirit there and that was it. I guess they are not used to Him showing up and residing there, and that makes sense being that it is a sort of Methodist type of church.

interesting, it seems from the few testimonies I've seen from there that people who go to genuinely seek God find Him. Those who go to "investigate" or find fault, likely leave unimpressed and convinced of their own POV. I would have liked to have went myself, but Im a bit outside of driving distance. The livestream was powerful though, I had listened to it for a couple of hours the other day and felt really drawn to what was going on, for what thats worth

They’re actually Wesleyan Holiness with a history of claiming revivals including the watershed 1970 one that sparked the Jesus Movement.

The revival has been compared to similar revivals at Asbury, notably one that occurred in 1970, which had far-reaching consequences in Methodism, US culture, and in the growth of the Jesus movement….Asbury has a history of revivals, the school claiming them in 1905, 1908, 1921, 1950, 1958, 1970, 1992, and 2006.

Well,...... say your church has The Holy Spirit there strongly at every service and the gifts operate like clockwork, normally with 3 tongues messages and interpretations every single service...!

Would an event like some sort of revival be all that impressive to you when you're able to experience not just His presence, but His operation of the gifts daily almost?

That's where our church was around 2010, and it lasted for roughly 3 years. Church seating was sometimes standing room only. There wasn't a worry about membership during that period, I can tell you that much.

It's always good when young folks experience GOD, but some people are way past the basics and want a much deeper experience and walk with Him.

Yea I couldn't remember what exact denomination they were, I thought Methodists.

thats fair and quite the experience I may add. Not in a negative way, I pray more gatherings would experience God as yours did.

I think it's actually an indictment on the spiritual state of the country, and the church actually when a simple worship service can bring about a revival. Even if its not a revival in a "traditional" sense of the word. But still, when people come into contact with the presence of God in any form or fashion, revival is there.

Now dont get me wrong, I'm not mocking what happened at Asbury. In fact, I think there's some beautiful truth in it. The church could use some stripping down of it's facade of entertainment, and just get back to the basics. I think.

But its early in the morning and I can't sleep so Ill stop rambling until some coherent thought can be processed.

I no longer have a tv but heard about this via our Pastor who mentioned it at church yesterday. As mentioned earlier I was on CF when Todd Bentley's services were going on, so I guess I am prayerfully but cautiously watching the developments as they unfold

The revival looks like a salvation call. It looks like a way to get people into a denominational church, because their are no specifics concerning doctrinal fundamentals. Any feelings can be dangerous-- Jesus wants us to have faith alone. God will receive apologies for sin and we must resist sin every day.

Ps. Rosebrough on what true revival is and what may or may not be going on at Asbury
(a lot of edifying comments as well):

I thought that was pretty good! I went ahead and subscribed to him on youtube.

I think he was very much spot on.

Well I will not touch this. God is moving...so many young people..when He is there...you never ever ever ever want to stop praising Him...for He God Inhabits the Praises of His People. Hard to find those that are willing to turn to truly repent and truly want something new. Its what they we seek.

I remember one that was really talked about good and bad. You know gold falling things you put on a shelve. Anyway this preacher that would walk pray every street in so many cities around the world. He said he was questioning one day about "gold falling". He was in Israel and a Rabbi on the bench yet the Rabbi would only have his back to him. The man said the moment he talked about gold falling.. He said the Rabbi just jump up said "Gold is falling on the gentles? I have to go I have to go the messiah is coming".

Its something I would have tossed out yet.. when a Rabbi talks acts like that. The preacher lol said he ran got is grand daughter and took off. That's all that preacher ever said about it...but what really got him was Rabbi talking about Messiah coming. Makes one wonder. As for this revival.. oh praise God I will only speak words of life.. and Father HERE I AM!

I thought so also.

I did enjoy his look into the OT on what would seem like a revival in his opinion, and I did agree. The NT outpouring of Acts 2 would be the template for what we might call a revival in the NT, but such an event takes a lot of dedication out of folks to happen. Azusa street would be exact copy of such an outpouring, where the gifts were handed out by GOD and the preaching was strong enough to convert thousands. And it also spread across the country like it did for the early apostles.
