  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

As President just how much damage could Trump do to America?

He can't do as much as people think. I mean he has more power then the queen of england, shes just a puppet on strings for show. But the president doesn't have extreme power. Its not like he can say "Build a wall!" and it will happen. Or "Ban <insert thing>!" and it will happen. The only real long lasting damage, damage that people should be more focused on is international damage. He can do alot if he uses his words poorly. Allies can become unallied. Enemies could grow stronger.... or love us instead.

How much power will Trump have? can the House or the Senate restrict his power and make him act sensibly?

maybe in 2 years they can, but you have to remember republicans control both and alot of those in them are the same people that did nothing for 8 years because OBAMA!!!.

If truth be told I suspect he and the other crazies could do an awful lot of damage, I think they will turn the clock back to the times when if people who could not afford to see a doctor and got sick they just died, a time when children were badly educated and were good Christians.

worst things they can do is replace the next 2 scotus that may retire and leave the supreme court 7-2 for the next 30 years.

He could fulfill his campaign promise to promote spreading of nuclear weapons around the world, perhaps even sell US nukes to it's allies, like for example Iraq and Pakistan. Then one day some major city disappears from the map in the US with a mushroom cloud and everyone's left wondering how possibly could a nuke end up in terrorist hands. Trump will Tweet that liberal media is totally crooked and unfair blaming him for it. Or something like that.

Remember, this is no fiction, he did promote such a thing.

Perhaps the most entertaining thing about people who dislike Trump is acting like the world is ending by saying what he will do even though he is not even in office yet. Apparently they are all psychic. It would be great that if anyone who said they "knew" he was going to do for sure, that if they were wrong once he was in office, they had to move to another country for a year. Or maybe go to jail for a bit. Maybe lose their salary for a month.

Why? Just so they learn to stop making assumptions. That and saying such things spreads on the internet and people are nieve enough to believe it. Heck, these same Trump haters should know about that since they were nieve enough to believe Hillary would win just because the world told them she would.

well it doesn't take a psychic to tell what he will likly do when he fills his cabinet with the very people that have done and said the things people are worried about.

If a man steals, cheats and tells lies what should we expect him to do? steal cheat and tell lies?

It is pretty funny that there's people out there who believe that any of the promises Trump made during the campaign meant anything. He's like Plinko from the Price is Right: maybe he'll send you a year's supply of butter, maybe he'll nuke Scotland. Who knows? But that's the kind of President I want. The one where you have no clue what he might do. Makes for some fun drinking games.

Really? C'mon. I'm sure he's bored of that by now. No, I'm convinced that now he's going to pay appropriately, play fairly, and tell the truth.

He could never do as much damage as Obama has already done.

It appears that he is on the way to correcting this damage and improving the nation for all Americans.

Perhaps you're right - he could never accomplish as much as Obama did.
