  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

As AV wrote, if it contradicts the bible, it's wrong.

Creationists look at Genesis and read of a recent global flood, a young earth, etc. Geologists look at the Earth and see processes that take millions of years and zero evidence of a recent global flood. Who is right?

I am a creationist, yet I do not agree with your statements here.

Then clearly you are not a True Creationist :p
Really? I don't think one needs to believe in a 6000 year old earth nor a global flood to be a creationist. A literalist may be compelled to believe these things but even that is not absolute.

The only thing one needs to believe to be a creationist is that God created us and/or the world around us. It doesn't really matter how why nor when.

I think the word "creationist" is more understood as referring to the YEC/literalist/inerrantists/fundamentalist camp. Although they do not make up all of theism or Christianity in a long shot.

Could you be more specific?

Creationists look at Genesis and read of a recent global flood, a young earth, etc.

I believe God created us all, but
I do not know how recent the flood was, nor do I claim the Earth is young.
