  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi, I am an artist. I can take a regular snapshot. And with just regular pencils, I can sketch and detail them. I struggle a little though with trying to get things right with my drawings. Because I guess I like to have the drawing just right. If I see anything wrong, I erase. I know that in life, nothing is perfect. I am trying to learn how to relax more with sketching and sort of have fun. Would there be another artist like me that I could relate to? Hoping to find out!

I'm a realistic sketch artist, but I also do digital. I've been told that my sketchwork is 'too tight', so I'm trying to loosen it up. I can post examples if you like, but they're a bit old. Maybe a daily sketch thread can be worked out here if people participate. That would be interesting.

I draw cartoons which look OK with flaws. I also paint cars (posted in "Members Art" forum) which I spend a lot of time trying to get right (lots of undos and erasing). I've tried a few tricks in the past. Just scribble a bunch - doodle. Do that as a warmup before you draw. Try to make it look loose. Try drawing an object without looking at the paper or lifting the pencil. It's challenging. Another good one is to sketch an object in 30 seconds then try the same one in 15 seconds. I'm also a really "uptight" artist and have had trouble with that in the past. I've been working on loosening up. Ain't easy :)
