All children are gentically modified so as to be sterile so they can not reproduce all human beings can then be manufactured by the state using artifical wombs... no more unwanted pregnancies no more abortion no more parents no more families

Geez, here's a positive use of technology that could actually have a positive impact on abortion, but because it's not 'natural' it must be brave new world sort of stuff. Is it only ok to save the unborn if we do it through legislation and religious pressure?

On the plus side the technology (in its final form down the road) can end the foolish argument that if a child is not viable outside the womb they can be killed and called not human. On the downside, it could be used to replace mothers in the very vital role of carrying and bonding.

So good points on it. But also a little Brave New World in the negative aspects. Like many things...morally neutral...just depends on how we use it.
