  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have a link to an article about a church trying to heal a boy during prayer. They did it in what I believe was a horrible way.

http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/Midwest/08/24/autisticboy.death.ap/index.html

I'm posting it here because I want to hear i purely christian perspective on the issue and because of the responses on the page I originally got the link from. Particually from a poster named Duemellon on the boards there. Here's the link to those boards. Be warned though this poster does have some inappropriate language, so be warned. If it is not alright for me to post such a link some mod. please polietly tell me so.

Wow, I read the article and I think it is a shame and an example of when good intentions go very wrong. I believe that in everything we are to have good sound judgement and that is not always the case.
I am not bashing on them, but I think sometimes our zeal gets the better of us and outweigh sound thinking.
I hope that makes sense and comes out the way that I am trying to say it.
In other words, I think the minister was doing what his faith said God could do and that was to heal anything, with anyone at any time. However, I also think that the minister took it outside of the spiritual realm when no results were evident at first. At which time they may have taken it to the extreme!!
