• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I also love the work of Luis Royo

Luis Royo is fantastic. Boris Vallejo is also great.

And there is a fantasy artist who is a personal friend of mine. Here is her site.

http://www.flickan.com/

It's in Swedish, but can be navigated easily enough.

I'm curious ~

How many have seen their favorite art in person?

I've seen two of the three I've posted here. They were already favorites. Seeing them -- not reproductions and not photographs -- brought a whole new appreciation.

I got to not only see my favorite art but the artist himself. A while ago me and my friend went to one of Alex Grey's full moon gatherings. It was an interesting little party, but I did get to meet Alex Gray himself. He's a weird guy.

I hope to be able to go se the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors once it's complete.

My favourite painter is the Australian artist Jeffrey Smart. I don't have a favourite painting, I love his style

Those almost look like computer 3-d images...very interesting.
Yeah, but he's been painting this style for decades.

He also has a very dry sense of humour. His 'portrait' of Clive James features a scene on a road with a bridge in the background and a tiny figure of a man leaning over looking at the road below; and that's Clive James!

But his self-portrait, which I included does show he can pain people well.
