The final recount results released Thursday in the Arizona attorney general’s race — which shrank to a razor-thin margin of 280 votes and confirmed Democrat Kris Mayes’ victory — show that ballot-counting errors in Pinal County were largely responsible for the shift.
Incompetent vs deliberately falsifying a voter count are two separate things. They are competent, they just got found out and decided to blame it on "human error"
They covered it up. It might also have made a difference in Kari Lake's lawsuit.

If someone commits a crime and steals from a store would you then blame the store owner for being too stupid to stop the theft? I sure hope you wouldn't.
Depends on what the owner could have reasonably anticipated and what precautions were taken. It's not unheard of for victims of theft to be held liable for the damages resulting from that theft. The most notable example coming to mind are data breaches at firms that handle credit card transactions (e.g. stores, banks) - the thieves are the ones ultimately at fault, but the retailers and financial institutions have a duty to safeguard that information and are on the hook for damages when it's leaked. I think there are (or perhaps will be in the future) similar rules regarding the storage of firearms wherein failing to properly secure a weapon can expose the owner to liability if it's stolen.
The main message is that the criminal who committed the crime is ultimately responsible. Much like you don't blame victims of other crimes i won't mention for being attacked, you just don't blame victims for crimes in general. period.
The recount was statewide, due to the closeness of the statewide AG race. The other counties have been checked and only small variances were found, although Apache and La Paz counties had similar rates of additional ballots.
I might suggest re-reading the first paragraph of the article that you posted.
Actually, the main message is that you refuse to accept the explanation that Pinal County officials were incompetent and did a poor job planning for the election and, rather, would prefer to assign nefarious motives to those who failed based on nothing more than your own blind speculation. Instead of holding responsible the people who failed, you're deflecting the blame onto some unnamed phantasm.
I believe all of them are Republican. They are in charge of the elections in Pinal county. There were only 2 full time employees of Elections Department in 2022. There are only about 430,000 people in the county. Seems the BoS needs to pay more attention to their elections.
