Peace in Christ.
Isa 60:1-5 KJV
(1) Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
We…who have the light of Christ within us…have the hope of this glory: to shine as stars in this world as the outside people of this world who do not have the light of Christ (they are in darkness) shall see His light upon us.
We are to seek for this glory: for the glory of God to appear over us appearing as a great light to those in the world who are in deep darkness.
Rom 2:7 KJV
(7) To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
Dan 12:3 KJV
(3) And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
They will see the “star” arising when they look upon us. They will see the light of Christ shining upon us.
Mat 2:1-2
(1) Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
(2) Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east (rising), and are come to worship him.
When they see the “star”, the people of the outside world (who are in darkness) will then “rejoice with exceeding great joy.” This is the “glory” that we are seeking for that only comes from God.
Mat 2:9-10 KJV
(9) When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
(10) When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
The glory of God rises upon us….and the outside nations of this world who are in darkness shall look upon us and somehow see His shining glory and be attracted to that light.
We are to be the “light of the world” that cannot be hidden. They…the nations of this world…shall see us shining with the glory of God appearing upon us. We have this "hope of glory"....to be seen by them with the glory of God appearing over us.
I can’t explain how they perceive His great glory light…but indeed it is real.
Col 1:26-27 KJV
(26) Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
(27) To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
He gives us the “morning star.” When the people of the nations of this world (who are in darkness) see us (who have the light of Christ), they will perceive the “morning star” rising within their own hearts.
Rev 2:26-29 KJV
(26) And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
(27) And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
(28) And I will give him the morning star.
(29) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Jesus gives us what He received from the Father. In Christ (the King upon His holy hill of Zion), we are given power over the nations:
Psa 2:6-12 KJV
(6) Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
(7) I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
(8) Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
(9) Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
(10) Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
(11) Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
(12) Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
We “shine as lights in the world” with the great light of Christ.
Php 2:14-16 KJV
(14) Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
(15) That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
(16) Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
His glory shall be seen upon us….and the people of the outside world shall see it and will come to that light…
Isa 60:2-5 KJV
(2) For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
(3) And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
(4) Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.
(5) Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.
We inherit the blessings of Abraham:
Gen 12:2-3 KJV
(2) And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
(3) And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
