I have read alot of these threads that people have started, and there are some confusing, and sometimes pretty mean debates over things. I think we need to put all this arguing aside. Because, just think if a person who was to consider becoming a christian opened one of these threads and saw the way we are all arguing, then it might turn them away from God. Now, I'm not saying it's like that in every thread, but in some I ran across it is. We shouldn't need to have a monitor to watch what we say, and remove the bad things. We need to come together and try to lead people to Christ through love. So let's try to stop arguing, and just have our debates, and keep em reasonable. If someone was trying to come to Christ, and saw how their are so many people that have differing views, and then get all confused in the process, with the bickering, then we might turn them off from God forever. Remember, like I said, most threads aren't like this, but some are.

:D ;)

I dont' recall any of us bickering about the essentials. Did Christ die for us? Yup. Did he save us? Yup. Is God a trinity? Yup. I don't see any problem with discussing other doctrines. As for people getting crabby. That all depends. Remember we are writting in text, not emotion. Alot of time its hard to see what emotion someone has behind a text by a simple smile face or a frown. Heck, I've rebuked someone on a doctrine once and the text prob came up crabby but I was just fine on the other end. CF is a place to discuss "many different views". Thats what a forums for. To discuss. I would hate it if every person thought like the person next to me! God forbid! Praise God he didn't make us all the same:)

I agree 100%

Unfortunately sometimes I will allow myself to be drawn into unChristlike comments and I usually repent and appologize as soon as I realize it(you know, when the Holy Spirit says "that's not what I told you to write, now humbly go back and love that individual").

I agree with you %100 also and have done the same thing. We all have a common bond together and belong to the same family. If world-wide tribulation were to break out today, I don't know anyone in the Charismatic section that wouldn't bond together to fight our fight of faith.

There are some places in the forum where essentials are argued about. It is these places that usually get me riled up. I usually force myself to leave gracefully, or don't post at all if it seems like they are not interested in discussing, only attacking.

Our one common agreement Is Jesus. He is our binding tie. Everything else that is revealed by the Spirit also will cause us to agree, if we have all been revealed the same knowledge at the same time. But even this will cause debate, because God reveals to us on a personal level, and not at the same time. Everything else is our personal opinions. And we have many of those, LOL. It's o.k.. but we need to be nice to each other. I have been guilty of getting rather opinionated. I'll try to take my own advice.

Here are the virtues I am trying (with a little success) to live:

Galatians 5
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Ephesians 4
32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Colossians 3
12Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

James 3
17But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

1 Peter 3
8 Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble.

1 Peter 5
5Young men, in the same way be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."
