Aren't we all physically ill?

I thought yoga was hinduism.

But the rest of what you said makes sense.

Now for a serious answer.

I just found out today someone I know is dying with cancer. They are in the final stages and have lost touch with reality.

It is unsettling to me because it was unexpected news. I didn't even know he had cancer.

The longer I live the more people I know who cross from this life into eternity.

There is also the aspect of it being a reminder that my day will come too and from all the accounts I have heard, when people look back they say it went by so fast.

Life is a vapor.

Does God heal? Sure He does.

Will God heal everyone? I know people on both sides of this that I love and respect.

I think of my own life and those I love.

If it was someone close to me I love I will be praying earnestly for their healing because of the heart loss it poses to me if they are gone. I don't think God somehow owes it to me or them though. I ask for mercy and when He heals I thank Him and when He doesn't I trust Him.

So I don't arrogantly presume upon God to be good to me or those I love (according to my limited understanding) I know He is full of mercy, grace and love and is willing and eager to pour them out on us according to His will where He works all things together for good. So when He doesn't, I know in my heart, even if right now there isn't a reason, God will make a reason and it will be more meaningful and more beautiful than I ever could have dreamt or asked for in the culmination of things. So I don't doubt my prayers or God's goodness.

My faith resides in the hope of the Gospel and I know Abraham didn't find the city down here though God promised it to him.

So, in conclusion, I keep my eyes on eternity and the author and finisher of my faith who loved me, gave Himself for me and I trust will freely, eventually give me all things.

Yep. I was hoping for a more civil discussion about an, um, explosive topic, but hand grenade lobbers are always around. I am beginning to think that it is those who are least comfortable with their “beliefs” who are most volatile toward those who challenge them. Anyhow, I guess we’ll see. .

Sadly, this is something we will all encounter as we move through life. The older we get the more relevant it becomes. Fact is, we are all sick to one extent or another. No one knows what illness is lurking inside our worn out (or wearing out) bodies, ready to manifest itself at the most unexpected times. But the OP is, since we are all physically ill at some level what exactly do we mean by physical healing. It seems to me that we all need it continuously, 24/7/365, and we will not be “whole” until the resurrection (Romans 8.23) of these mortal, corruptible bodies.

If only that were true for all.

You all know that my wife has mutilple sclerosis as I have posted it many times. Just as I have posted that she has been prayed for, over, hands laid on many, many times. If anyone believes that they will be healed it is her, yet she still suffers from MS.

Surely, my wife who believes whole heartily that she will be healed would have been healed by now. Yet she hasn't. In my "Please Pray for my Wife" thread someone mentioned that they were hearing the Scripture " my grace is sufficient for you" when reading my post. That also confirms what I have heard many times when I pray for my wife to he healed, which I do each and everyday.

I know that some of you will say that you cannot go by experiences, yet I live each day with the knowledge that my wife hasn't been healed even though we stand on the promises of God. I continually am brought back to and hear that His grace is sufficient for her. That is more than experience, that is truth of the life that my wife and I live.

All glory belongs to God, even when He chooses not to heal and only provides His grace for inflictions.

I don't know if you listened to the song I posted from U2 (most balk because it's a rock band). It was about a boy in their school who had no control over his body. He was completely limp. The doctor said he was just a shell. His mother believed he could hear though and read to him daily.

One day they came out with a drug that allowed him to move his head just enough. His special ed teachers came up with the idea of putting something on his head so he could poke a keyboard. He ended up being a award winning poet.

Some would say God failed that little boy. I'd say God chooses the weak things and people of this world to manifest His glory.

1 Corinthians 1:27-29
New Living Translation (NLT)

"...God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God."

I did listen, yes. Thank you for it.

It still doesn't make the "all our healed if they just believe" any easier to hear.

My wife fully believes as do I, yet she remains sick.

We are actually on our way in a few minutes to the ER per her neurologist. She has gotten worse, much worse as she feels that her body is shutting down.
I am praying with you, B. My prayer is that the Lord's will be done ... and I know it will.

don't go to the doctor that'll go against the will of god cause after all it's his will that you are sick-----RIGHT!?

Or God's will was to make that person a doctor to treat myself and others when we do get sick. No way to know.

She decided not to go and I am going to put in a call to her neurologist on Monday first thing if she doesn't end up at the ER anyway during the rest of the weekend.

Renee, I don't listen to people when they say not to go see a doctor. As far as I am concerned they don't have the well being of the person who needs to see a doctor in mind.

Our hearts and prayers are with you.

To that I'll repeat this thought I posted earlier. I don't think there is any rhyme or reason to suffering that we can see anyway. I hold on to my faith though that somehow, someway that I may not see right now, God will take all these bad things His children experience in this life and someday in this life or in the next, make them all work together for good.

If that is a recent picture of you than you are talking as a child about things you do not understand.
God created doctors to take care of the sick because they need a doctor.
If you still think it is Gods will to make people ill then your god Is satan.
Where will you go when illness comes upon you? You will run like hell to get to a doctor.
Talk is cheap until reality strikes.
