Spiritual Sensitivity

Conclusion: There is no partiality from God. Thus there is no spiritual sensitivity for some and not for others. That's not to say that there aren't prophets and people prophesying. These things come from God alone, and are not due to any spiritual sensitivity on the part of the persons.

The Holy Spirit



Conclusion: God speaks through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit speaks the truth in a straight-forward and easy to understand way. The word of God is also the truth. The two will never contradict each other.

My Own Experience

The Holy Spirit works in concert with your thoughts and the things that happen in your daily life to bring you to conclusions that help you grow as a Christian. You receive discernment not only of the word, but of the many ways He works in your life. Some of them are subtle, some are profound.

In Closing

I would seek the Lord in prayer and ask for guidance. I would not rely on any emotion. If you think about it, if God used emotion to sway a person one way or the other, that would tend to negate a person's free will. Again, God is no respecter of persons. He doesn't give special treatment to some and not others.

You’re grasping at straws to find the meaning for your experience. Which isn’t consistent with the Lord in that respect. The people who exhibit the qualities in the link you shared often have the gift of discernment if they’re believers. And when it occurs you know. Some people experience the spiritual realm through their sight, hearing, smell, touch, or taste. It’s more than noticing a presence or detecting something’s amiss. You’ll know what it is. The Holy Spirit will tell you Himself or drop the truth in your spirit. Which is a word of knowledge.

Many gifts work in harmony with one another and it‘s common to have related talents depending on your calling. You’ve received three replies to the thread and we’re all aligned. The gift in itself is good but the altar determines its strength. Just because we have an ability doesn’t mean we’re operating at a 100%. It’s like playing golf. You can hit the ball but directing the shot takes practice. We have to build up our skills to be Tiger Woods. We can’t do what does in the beginning.

Anything spiritual related comes from God or the enemy. There isn't any other option other than that. If God is telling you something, again, he isn't going to partially tell you but the enemy will. Because he wants you to sit here confused and wrongfully associate it with God so you can act like God isn't sufficient with what he does. Look at the detail in the human body or the world. Do you think he'd be that messed up in communication that he would tell you to just not reply and not tell you WHY? You're sitting here trying to figure it out and making it a guessing game.

Not only that, you're associating your experience with something spiritual and claiming it as an ability. I looked at the link you gave, "For example, when a spirit of fear is present, people often begin to feel fearful." This is not how this works... you're saying discernment is based on feelings. This person is literally teaching people that their emotions dictate what the truth is. Feeling afraid? Clearly there is a fearful spirit, and even adds, "see if you start acting or feeling “not yourself.” Be aware of your thoughts and emotions. If you’re suddenly very critical, perhaps the person you’re ministering to has a critical spirit." None of this is grounded in the scripture since we aren't supposed to rely on emotions, we are to rely on the wisdom that God gives and because our hearts are deceitful, our emotions will portray that deceit.

The point of the spiritual gifts is to benefit others, not ourselves.
1 Corinthians 14:12 (ESV): "So with yourselves, since you are eager for manifestations of the Spirit, strive to excel in building up the church."
1 Peter 4:10-11 (ESV): "As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ."
Ephesians 4:11-12 (ESV): "And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ."
Romans 12:4-6 (ESV): "For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them..."

So this isn't psychology is it? Because there is a spiritual component where you think you had a reaction to the enemy which is why you gave me the link you did which contradicts scripture in the points I addressed above. If there is anything that is spiritual that is coming from God, it is to benefit the body of Christ and not make yourself out to seem like you have an ability that clearly benefits you "I had a reaction of sorts to evil or something like it" is benefiting you and you alone. That also contradicts scripture.

I'm sorry but none of this is from God. And if you keep believing that it is, you are going to continue having theses instances that you can't figure out because there's no point to it and it's just causing you confusion which God is not the author of. You need to pull back and step away from the teachings of this website and really get into scripture so you aren't swayed when people take verses out of context and add their own teachings on it like this website does. It's leading you incorrectly.

Empathy isn't necessarily either pagan or christian. I've never heard anyone say they are an "Empath" however. How can you be an Empath? Empathy is something between people, not something one is! Being capable of empathy (lets use the term right) is simply something human beings have a capacity for, its certainly not that some are born with that and others are not.

It isn’t a term you’ll usually hear in christian circles. The common belief is the person feels what others do and experiences it physically much like a conduit. If you’re sad they’ll feel it and so on. They’ve been known to feel overwhelmed in crowds due to overload. You hear the term frequently in new age circles and with spiritual types. But I don’t believe the principle is christian. We’re not supposed to absorb one another in that fashion.
