OK. There's a saying that the older you get, the more you get set in your ways.

Is this true?

I'd like to know ... in your life, what elements do you keep the same? Which ones do you like to mix up every now and then?

For instance, do you *always* shop at the same grocery store, or would you go to a different one just for the heck of it?

Do you experiment in your cooking, or make the same dishes every week/month?

Do you sit in the SAME place in church every week???? If so ... why?

The list could go on and on... :p
I haven't figured out yet how to quote each little part of the original post at a time, but here are my answers to the questions:

I tend to shop at one certain grocery store because it is generally cheaper and I know where things are, but I like to stop at the other ones too from time to time just to find out what I'm missing!

I make the same foods over and over--I have a limited number of things I know how to make easily and I generally stick with them since I am too impatient to be a good cook and I'm very unadventurous about trying new foods anyway.

Yes, I sit in the same place all the time at church--because I'm the organist! Otherwise I would probably move around.

One other thing I like to mix up is to drive different routes when I am going to and from work, stores, etc. Also, when clothes shopping I make an effort to try on at least one thing that I wouldn't normally wear--usually I find out that not wearing it was a good idea, but occasionally I am pleasantly surprised!

I think I am sooooooooooooooo set in my ways I'm probably borderline OCD. As far as groceries, it seems I have a certain routine most of the time but occasionally I'll choose Walmart Supercenter over my normal shopping place. It depends on the sales the other place is having, I reckon.

I definitely experiment with my cooking on those rare occasions that I actually cook. Of course, it may be due to the fact I am very "domestically challenged" and look for new ways to make stuff edible! haha

Yes, I sit in the same place at church every week...not really sure why. I think pretty much everyone there does...kind of weird, eh?

What do I like to mix up? Hmmmm.....I need to think about this one! lol Man....I need to get out more!

LOL, InTheGarden, about sitting in the same place. I guess you can't wander too far off from the organ or the congregation would have some problems! :D

Great idea about the clothes shopping. I think that's a wonderful way to NOT take oneself too seriously, too. Like if you think your appearance has to be "perfect" then you'll only try on certain clothing that has to be "right." But why not mix it up a little? That way we can express different parts of our personalities! I think I'll try it. :)

The same thing used to happen in high school too! It was like everyone chose their seat on the first day of class, and no one changed after that. If you did, someone might even say "Hey you're in my seat!" Funny how we are creatures of habit. ^_^
