I feel this thread is cheapening the value of reps ^_^ Not that I'm complaining or anything, you understand.

Well, the one-way nature of reps has already damaged irreparably their utility as indicators of the typical quality of the poster.

Oh, and Eddie Izzard... is he really a comedian? I was under the impression comedians were supposed to make you laugh.

Well considering he's considered one of the best comedians in the world (and even won an award to that fact a few years ago), I'd have to say yes :p

But I could see why some people don't like him. His comedy is pretty different. Took me a couple times of watching him to get it.

Ever gotten spite-repped? Got a rep with a nasty note attached?

I find that amusing, since no one else can see your rep comments. "Look, I'll make it look like you make quality posts, but privately say that you're an idiot."

Can I just say that I admire Eddie Izzard and find him funny, Mr Izzard has dyslexia.
Considering the kind of shows he does I think it is an achievement.

BTW..We have two hundred languages in Europe. Two hundred languages! Count them! I know you won't! (Cheers Eddie);)

Now where's my reps for such an informative post.
Hmmm Hmmm.
:D

The Dutch alone speak four languages, and smoke marijuana! But that's cheating. Everybody knows marijuana will help you come in last place in a race... with 8 million runners... who are already dead.

Yes, I've had those. They're very surreal!

"Cat, are you drilling?"
"Drilling, me? Nooo, that's purring you're picking up on there."

People spite-rep? Really? Seriously? Wow. In the words of a 90's teenager..."that's mature. NOT."

Do you check your settings every time you log in to see if you have new rep?

Do you get angry when you reply with a witty quip so good that Eddie Murphy would be proud, and you don't receive your due rep?

Does it annoy you and baffle you when see an utter cretin with a ridiculous rep score?

When you get a ":D" or a "" in response to one of your posts, do you die a little inside when you haven't received any rep?

No? me neither..

(it's a slow day)

I am honest. I am a bit obsessed with reps, but only a little. I do check my reps often. I do not get upset if I do not receive reps though and I do not play those silly rep games. (Sorry, if some do) I did get over a million because of a random blast from RepDaddy, but I didn't ask for them. In fact, it kind of annoyed me. I do want to be well thought of as in I want people to take me seriously and consider me someone they respect.

<Raises hand>

Guilty as charged.
I don't know why getting an electronic thumbs up from strangers on the internet gives me such a thrill, but it does.

Oh, and I used to rep newbies alot. I also used to participate in a Tychius2 anonymous blessings exchange, and I would rep the other people in the thread.

I also used to not rep people with high rep counts when my rep count was lower. I think it is natural to do that. Now, of course, I rep whomever without even looking at what they already have.

I have been nasty-repped before, several times in fact, and it irritates me to no end.

I gained most of my rep points right after 7-7-07. I went from 40K to several hundred thousand in a matter of weeks. That was a crazy time.

I briefly participated in RepDaddy threads for about a week. That got me probably another 100K and the remaining reps, I have truly earned. Oh, I already mentioned that Steve randomly repped me over 1 million recently. I think I was at 800K at the time. Probably a little higher than that. I just remember that he repped me three times and that took me over the million mark.

So, I would say 1/3 were earned in GA. 1/3 were earned in CCC, and the other 1/3 came from RepDaddy and his group. So, I should probably be at around 800K right now if I had earned all the reps the hard way.
