I like getting reps for posts I think were good ones, especially if the repper adds a comment. That's the only reason I ever give anyone reps myself. I usually don't bother giving reps to people who have millions of them, because I reason that they aren't interested in responses to their posts, but just in having lots of 'game' reps. I expect those people likely never bother to read any comments attached to their reps, or even think there's anything special about the post the reps are attached to, because they must get hundreds a day. I will, however, if I'm really impressed with their post, but it always seems a bit pointless.

Yeah, indeed.

I get dead excited when I get reps from people I respect, for posts I think are okay :)

Do you check your settings every time you log in to see if you have new rep?
No.

Do you get angry when you reply with a witty quip so good that Eddie Murphy would be proud, and you don't receive your due rep?
No.

Does it annoy you and baffle you when see an utter cretin with a ridiculous rep score?
Yes. But then, I know a lot of people play the rep games, which have absolutely nothing to do with the quality of their posts, but rather how often they post smileys.

When you get a ":D" or a "" in response to one of your posts, do you die a little inside when you haven't received any rep?

No? me neither..

(it's a slow day)
I do sometimes like getting rep. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. I don't really care about not getting it though.

Is this just a ploy to get people to rep you Stan?

I bet it is. You clever dog you.

Hey, I'm just providing some lighthearted observational humour. What can I say, I like to make people smile. If people want to rep me as a result, I am absolutely helpless to stop them <hint hint>.

Are you trying to get in on my action? Very clever disguise!

I'm really not one to be obsessed with Rep-Accumulation. Especially since the ratio of stars to little squares to post count to the number of times a sparrow farts before noon doesn't seem to make any sense to me. I don't know why some people with less rep than me have gold stars, and I've got silver and bronze, and people with more rep would have mostly bronze and just one silver. I've pretty much given up trying to find a pattern in the whole thing and am content to simmer in my ignorance. :D

I'll admit that I get a little thrill over the approval of others when I've said something I think is clever or worthwhile--especially when that approval comes in a collectible and displayable form. It gives me all sorts of warm-fuzzies. And yeah; I do check my reps every time I log in. As others have said, I especially like it when people leave comments with their reps.

It's reassuring to know I'm not alone.

I think when you have a full bank of stars, you get a new green (or yellow) gem, but I might be wrong.
