It's interesting that people are associating happiness with the intensity of some sort of mental pleasure. I don't think of it that way. Happiness is not fundamentally some sort of energetic mania, its fullest expression is fairly peaceful and calm.

Or as Epicurus said, 'when pain is removed (mental or physical), pleasure is at its maximum'. So basically what you said, when things are peaceful and calm, the mind is at ease and your body feels well, happiness is there.

With all the troubles here and around the world it would seem that people should be stressed, anxious, or unhappy. Without regard to the conditions of the country or the world, are you generally happy, and satisfied with your life?

yes overall I am satisfied with my life. I'm lonely; i have few friends to talk with and no woman in my life. but everything else in my life is really good and i know that with time my loneliness will get better.
