We were a once great nation, and then they brought us "happiness".

Happiness is a scam, we need "taqua", (piety, self defence, protection, safeguarding).

Happiness is linked to consumption-ism too easily, commercialisation of the "spirit" of man. The poor man is not as happy, he needs to be happy.

No.... he needs out. Transfer to dimension zone 4.

The happiness connectome:

That was what made the nation great. And then growing government started to take it away in favor of dependence.

That is not a problem of happiness itself, but of a misunderstanding of the causes and conditions of happiness.

There's nothing intrinsically wrong with happiness. We should want to be happy. We should do so maturely. We shouldn't fall for the Muslim scam of taqua.

Abused at work and treated like prisoner in our company accommodation everyday.

I'm happy that I'm still sane! Is it normal to be sane in such condition? maybe I have lost my mind... But who cares, it annoys my persecutors!

Rorsharch Test time. What is "the world" anyway?

Heres one take:

Theres a lot of talk about decadence, and political decline. "We were once a great nation" time is here, which fits into fascism or is a diagnostic of it. Even in the UK, its on the radio and TV.

Likewise in ethe ME. There have been so many messianinc movements, with ultra strict and purist moralities and ideologies, in order to make way for the "blessed savior" or whatever.

I think we ought to follow the deconstructionists here, and say:

"Why so serious....HEY! who spilt the ink?"

Yep dependence is an issue, it was even in the CIA world factbook (the problems of Europe and dependence on welfare), but not necessarily related to big government IMO.

Its related to government which doesnt know too much excepting behaviorism and emotive discpline when it comes to motivating the underclass. The Catholics have a good attitude IMO, theres dignity in work and there ought to be personal time too. Not some (news) journalist working infor the tabloids covering various systemic inadequacies and crying "sponger" and "parasite".

For the weak and poor, that kind of treatment is often just counterproductive when it comes to self esteemm, motivation, mutual respect and respect for the authorities etc. And the same papers sell them "rebellion" in the (entertainments) pages. What do people expect? Were driven by conflicting social forces into an untenable situation (double bind, or even triple bind).

A double bind is an emotionally distressing dilemma in communication in which an individual (or group) receives two or more conflicting messages, and one message negates the other.

You see, the only time we ever got mention of "philosophy" was in the (sports) pages. The philosophgy of Barcalona manager Pep Guardiola etc.

Looking out my window, it's safe to say 100% of all the space for the next billion billion miles is conflict free and peaceful.
Looking a couple more feet to the left and right, seem ok.
There is a lot of peaceful space out there.

I can't say that I am unhappy.

All things considered, the stuff that I worry about daily about my life are rather problems of luxury. I can eat a steak when I want to and I have the financial means and the time to play some xbox when I want to. Those two things by themselves already say a lot about my life.

It means I don't need to work two jobs.
It means I actually have time to relax.
It means I don't have financial problems.

Next to that, I am close with my family and am lucky enough to have 4 or 5 really good friends that I can trust and count on.

I really, really can't complain.

However, there are some things left I would like to accomplish. There are plans in motion in which I'm not progressed as far as I would like to. Eventhough I live a comfortable life with good health, I still have higher ambitions.

Would I say that I couldn't be "happy" until I reach those goals?
Not really... but accomplishing those goals sure would make me happier.
Then again, once I reach those goals, most likely other goals with take their place.

I am satisfied with my life and I am "happy" enough.
Nevertheless, I have goals that,when accomplished, would make me even happier.
On the other side, being able to even work towards attaining those goals also contributes to my hapiness.

I don't tend to think in the kind of black and white world of "happy" or "unhappy".
I think there are many gradations in there and multiple perspectives.

I can be happy about plenty of things and unhappy about other, perhaps unrelated things.

I'm happy sometimes.

I don't think happiness is the be-all-end-all of life. Emotional fluidity is better than wearing a kind of plastic happy expression all the time. Imperturbability and freedom from emotional attachment is even better.

How about suffering as a good thing? Bearing it with grace and courage is admirable. And accepting the fact that we are weak, limited creatures when we break down under the weight of it - that is life.
